Lodge expects

March 20 presided over by

FWen, it was announced that
Mrs, Ray Crawford of Brussels,
District Deputy President, will
make her official visit to the
lodge April 3.
Mrs. A,R. Orr, and Mrs.
Ernest Chipchase were appoin-
ted to attend the Rebekah As-
sembly Session in Toronto June
17, 18 and 19, Mrs. Orr as a
scholar, and Mrs. Chipchase,
representative.
Plans were made to hold a
bake sale and tea Saturday,
April 6 in the lower lodge rooms
at 3 o'clock. The annual dis-
trict meeting will be held April
10.

zone rally
A Kinsmen from Simcoe,
than Durrant, has been elected
to the office of Deputy Governor
for District 16 and will have
charge of co-ordinating the ac-
tivities for Zone D which in-
cludes the Kinsmen Club of
Hensall, lie will assume office
on September 1, The election
took place at the Zone spring
conference held at London
March 24.
The Hensall Kinsmen Club
was represented at the confe-
rence by President John Heal,
Ron Wareing, Bill Fuss,Harold
Knight, Bill Mickle and Jack
Drysdale,
Miles O'Grady, Woodstock,
was winner of the Bill Mickle
public speaking trophy.
The Association of Kinsmen
Clubs was formed 43 years ago
in Hamilton, Ontario, and has
grown to almost 400 clubs with
12,000 members in all 10 Cana-
dian provinces, One of the ob-
jectives of the Association is to
improve and educate its mem-
bers in modern business and
professional methods and
ethics.

grandmothers
Members of Kippen WI at
their meeting at the home of
Mrs. Vern Alderdice honored 14
grandmothers and presented
each with a shamrock corsage.
Mrs. Orville Cooper won the
prize for having the youngest
grandchild; Mrs. Richard Tay-
lor Jr. received the prize for
having the most grey hair. The
grandmother with a birthday
closest to the hostess was Mrs.
William Gibson and the grand-
mother with a waist measuring
three teacups was Mrs. William
Caldwell.
Mrs. Grant MacLean gave a
comparison "Housewives Yes-
terday and Today" stating that
"busy as we seem we would
hate to have to do what Grandma
did." The grandmothers acted
the charades given by Mrs. Mc-
Naughton. Mrs. MacLean pre-
sided for the program.
Mrs. Harry Strang, paid her
official visit as South Huron
district president and discussed
the more recent endeavors in
WI work. Roll call was answered
by giving "A hobby for my old
age." Mrs. Percy Harris com-
mented on current events.
The attendance roll call con-
test ended with just five points
between the sides. The winners,
Mrs. Alderdice' side, are being
treated to a supper by Mrs. R.
Bell's side on Wednesday,
March 27 with entertainment
by the winners.
Mrs. Howard Finkbeiner con-
ducted a contest while lunch
was being prepared by Mrs.
Grant MacLean, Mrs. Campbell
Eyre, Mrs. Arthur Varley and
Mrs. Cecil Pullman.

ronto, formerly of Zurich, is a
patient in the Orthopedic Hos-
pital, Toronto, with a fractured
hip suffered in a fall on the
ice around his home.
Mrs. Gordon Troyer is a
patient in Victoria Hospital,
London.
Cpl. and. Mrs. Jerry Ziler,
Robbie and Michael, who have
resided in the Fink apartment,
left Saturday to visit with rela-
tives in Guelph and Windsor,
before proceeding to their new
home at Quebec, where Cpl.
Ziler has been posted.

The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Townsend,
Mitchell, formerly of Hensel',
and the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Innis, RR
2 Port Lambton.
The bride chose a floor-
length gown of nylon net and
lace. The lace bodice featured
lilypoint sleeves and a scal-
loped neckline trimmed with
sequins and pearls. Her shoul-
der-length veil was held by a
crown of sequins and pearls and
she carried a white Bible cres-
ted with red and white roses.
Miss Barbara Townsend, sis-
ter of the bride, was maid of
honor and Miss Diane Leary
was bridesmaid. Raymond Bi-
shop attended the groom asbest
man and ushers were Lloyd L anf
and Lloyd Brock.
For travelling to the Southern
United States the bride donned
a three-piece black knit en-
semble, black Persian lamb
jacket and accessories in black.
They will reside in Mitchell.

15-minute Bible study to the
Explorers of Carmel Church,
Thursday afternoon, in prepa-
ration for Rally Day.
Mrs. Gordon Schwalm pre-
sented the study on "Tiger Tail
Village".
Janice Bonthron presided for
the business, Marjorie Schwalm
read the minutes, John Thomp-
son led in prayer, and Beth Tro-
yer gave a poem,

dies in Ottawa,
Miss Agnes Shirray of Cum-
berland, died in OttawaGeneral
Hospital Monday, March 18.
Born on the Shirray home-
stead in Hay Township, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicol
Shirray, she is survived by one
sister (Helen) Mrs. H. J. D.
Cooke, Ottawa; one brother,
David Shirray, Exeter.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday at Rockland, with bu-
rial in Hensall Union cemetery
on Wednesday. Rev. Harold F.
Currie conducted the service at
the graveside, and Bonthron Fu-
neral Home were in charge of
funeral arrangements.
