Constable Ray Gallino re-
ported to the council that again
there will be a staff of seven
extra men from the Provincial
Police appointed to police the
village this summer, with the
first of these arriving by May
1. The constable indicated that
he expected a full crew would
be on hand for the May24 week-
end.

stable Gallino on his actions
at the corner of George and.
Main. Mr. Balkwill was making
a U-turn off the west side of
Main when he ran into the side
of the northbound station wagon.
Councillors of the village of
Grand Bend are now consider-
ing applications from life
guards for the summer season.

meeting was the application of
Gary lvfatherS, Grand Bend, who
was on staff last year,
Still needed are two more
juniors, and council also hopes
to hire a perspn with consider-
able experience, to serve as
supervisor for the four-man
lifeguard crew. Swimming in-
struction by one or more of the
lifeguards will be expected.
Councillor Tan Cole is chair-
man of the recreation commit-
tee of council in charge of this
project.
Details of the dog control
by-law were reviewed. Accord-
ing to the provisions of a by,
law passed in 1961, no dogs
