Battling in the WOAA
Exeter Bantams dropped a close
two-game total-goal series to
Walkerton by a 6-5 margin.
Playing in the Bruce County
town on Thursday, the Bantams
dropped a 3-1 decision and came
back to home ice a night later
to register a 4-3 win but fell
one goal short on the round..
Bob Grayer accounted for the
only goal in the away from home
contest.
Doug Brindley, Larry Reeves
and Allan Young picked up credit
for the home club scores.
In Friday's action Terry
Hughes put the visitors into a
1-0 lead at the 1.15 mark of
period number qne and this
score held until the middle of
frame two when Scott Burton
steered a Bob Grayer pass over
the goal line.
Burton fired his second early
in the third and Allan Young
came back to tie it up again a
few moments later.
A blazing slap shot from Paul
Mason produced Exeter's third
marker and another lead that
only lasted for a short while
as Terry Moran returned the
compliments.
A three-way passing effort
with only 15 seconds left on the
clock and Mason again on the
finishing end put Boyle's boys
within one of tying things up
but the clock beat them to the
punch.
