EXETER COUPLE WED 50 YEARS
, . Mr, and Mrs, Archie Ryckman
Married 50 years
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ryck-
man, William St. celebrated
their golden wedding anniver-
sary Wednesday.
The couple were married in
Hensel', by the late Rev, J. E.
Millyard on Dec. 27, 1911. "It
was almost exactly the same
kind of a day as his one is,"
said Mrs. Ryckman Wednesday.
Their attendants were the
late Miss Nettie MacLean and
the late Milton Ortwein.
After the ceremony, the cou-
ple went to live on the groom's
farm near Moose Jaw, Sask.,
in 1912. They returned to On-
tario In the spring of 1928 re-
tiring in Exeter.
The couple have five chil-
dren three daughters, Mrs,
Russell (Dorothy) Finkbeiner,
Crediton; Mrs, Gerald (Gladys)
Skinner, and Mrs, Karold (Al-
ma) Preszcator, both of town;
and two sons, Mahlon, on his
father's farm near Moose Jaw,
and Wesley, Exeter.
Mr, and Mrs, Ryckman were
guests of honor at a family
dinner at Zurich Wednesday
evening, A number of relatives
and friends called to offer best
wishes and they received a
congratulatory message from
the province through Hon, C.
S. MacNaughton.

School concert
Last Wednesday evening Wha-
len School held its Christmas
concert with a good crowd in
attendance. Gordon Johnson
was MC for the evening. Don-
ald Neil welcomed everyone.
The program consisted of cho-
ruses, piano solos, accordion
solos, drills, readings, dialo-
gues, speeches and the Christ-
mas story. Mrs. Duffield was
the piano accompanist.
During intermission the pu-
pils sold homemade candy,
Much credit is due to Mrs.
Gowan (teacher) and her pu-
pils for the way they presented
their program. The apprecia-
tion of the audience was evi-
dent in their interest and re
sponse. Santa Claus arrived
and distributed the gifts from a
heavy laden tree.

piano solo.
The Christmas tree was 'un-
leaded. The SS provided treats
for all classes.
The choir was in charge of
the social part of the evening.
