or until cranberries are soft.
Meanwhile soak gelatine in '4
cetp apple juice for 5 minutes.
Press cranberries through

shown pictures
- Modern pictures of the Neth-
erlands featured the Christ-
mas meeting of the ladies of
Bethel Reformed Church Thurs-
day night,. Dec. 14.
The pictures were shown by
Airs. Sim Roobol, Hensall, who
returned to her native land
this summer for a visit with
friends and relatives. Her slides
showed inany of the changes
which have taken place in the
Netherlands in recent years.
The meeting was held in the
basement of the new church
with Mrs. Richard Van Farowe
in. charge. The ladies sang a
intnaber of Christmas carols,
Young people of the church
will hold their annual Christ-
mas party Saturday night when
they present gifts to each other,

panied by religious poems.

gregation will attend service

11 cups orange juice, fresh
or diluted frozen concentrate
2 large bottles ginger ale,
chilled
Boil together sugar and water
for 3 minutes. Chill, Combine
sugar syrup with chilled fruit
juices. Just before serving acid
ginger ale.

First Exeter Brownie Pack
held its Christmas party at the
Scout Hall Monday when 24
parents and friends witnessed
the enrollment of ten Brownies,
Mamie Morrow, Lois Porter,
Connie Mackie, Ruth Thomp-
son Susan MacDonald, Judy
Wallas, Kathy .Dewar, Judy
Glover, Susan Tuckey and Gail
Sweet were enrolled by Brown
Owl Mrs. Joe Wooden assisted
by Packies Joan and Jane

A Golden Bar was presented
to Beth Goman and Cheryl
Parsons received her Golden
Hand, A. proficiency badge for
swimming was given to Mary
Wilson.
The parents were served cof-
fee and the Brownies ex-

The school was nicely decorat-
ed for the occasion.

11.30 a,m. with a combined
choir of junior and senior girls
with Terri Lou Paul. taking the
solo part. Mrs. Clayton, Ross
rendered the solo "Bethlehem".
Rev. T. Elliott gave a fitting
inspiring pre -Christmas mes-
sage. Mrs. Fred Switzer was
at the organ and Mrs, Alex
Crago at the piano.

throughout the pageant.
Mrs. Hugh Rundle led in the
devotional assisted by Mrs.
Gerald McLean. Mrs, Rundle
and her group arranged the
program and lunch.

when annual reports were given

The inter -church CGIT of
Exeter presented a meaningful
vesper service Sunday evening
in James Street United Church
to a large audience.
Leader of the service was
Ann Fairbairn, Elizabeth Gosar
told a Christmas story "The
Messenger", Anne Marie Kraft
sang a solo and Linda Walper
and Anne Marie Kraft sang a
duet "0 Holy Night". Margie
Howey practiced to sing this
duet with Linda but, owing to
a cold, was unable to.
Taking the part of the candle
lighters were Sharon Sanders,
Brenda Dinney awl Jane South -
colt, Joy Seldon and Linda
Snider were the readers from
Scripture.
A Christmas Fantasy was
part of the serv:ce in which
Susan Dinney, Kathy Smith,
Norma Young, Susan Doerr,
Mary Corbett and Joanne Ten-
nant participated.

tute cni Thursday evening. The

Christmas decorations.
Final arrangements were
made for a canvas for the
March of Dimes. Plans were
made for a euchre party in
January and to remember the
shutins at Christmas.
