School program was held in the
school room of Carmel Presby-
terian -Church Sunday evening
with the schoolroom packed to

Each class contributed to the
program and the CGIT and Ex-
plorers presented skits. The
children were given treats and
gifts, and lunch was served.

The Legion Half, lovely in a
setting of Christmas emblems,
was the setting Wednesday,
eveningeDec. 13 for the Christes
mas meeting of Hensall Wom-
en's Institute and was largely
attended
President Mrs. Fred Beer
opened the meeting and con-
ducted the business. Final ar-
rangements for the sponsor -a -
child plan were made and it
was decided to have a child of
school age prefered. Season's
greetings were on display from
the other branches- of South
Huron.
Members of the Kinsmen club
held a successful canvass of
the village Thursday night in
their peanut drive and sold 192
packages.

Miss Jennie Gordon Taylor of
Hensall, who died suddenly at
her home Friday afternoon
were held from the Bonthron
Funeral Chapel, Monday, Dec.
18 conducted by Rev. Ross D.
MacDonald. Burial was in Hen-
sel" Union cemetery.
Born in Hay township she
had been a resident of the vil-
lage Lor many years and was
a member of Carmel Presby-
terian Church.
Surviving are one brother,
Orville Taylor, RR 1 Exeter;
two -.sisters, Mrs. Rex Dick,
11,111. Hensall, and Mrs. Wil-
liamliarvey of Norwich.

a busy day Saturday doing a
rushing business washing ears
And realized $55.00 for their
efforts.
Proceeds will be used for
eamping equipment and the
boys hope to try to build a hut
of their own.
Assisting with the project
were Scoutmaster Paid Paton,
and John Baker assistant; Cub -
master Jack Lavender, and Ken
Richardson, and Ron Ralph, as-
sistants, a number of the fa-
thers and members of group
committes also helped.
The cars were washed at Gen-
eral Coach Works of Canada.

United Church—the 11 o'clock
hour of worship and a Christ-
mas Eve carol service. at 7.30

Mr. and Mrs. James Donald-
son attended the funeral 'of the
latter's father, Mr. James Post,
on Friday, The service -was
held at, the Evani.funeral home,
Hamilton Road; with interment
in Veteran's plot in Mt. Pleas-
ant cemetery. He is survived by
three iaughters, Mrs. James
Donaldson, Clandeboye; Mrs.
Irene Plant and Mrs. Dorothy
Tyre, of London. Mr. Poet seas
a veteran of the Boer War and
served in the British navy in
the First World War. He was
formerly of St. Thomas. He
died at Westminster flospital
on Wendesday, December 13, hi.
