CHRISTMAS MORNING
SURPRISES
SEASON'S
GREETINGS
Bell folks will be spending
Christmas in much the same
way as all families in Exeter
and district. They'll .be en-
joying turkey dinners and
plum puddings, singing
carols,_ opening brightly
coloured presents and all the
other exciting activities that
go with this joyous time of
year. There will also be
time to relax and enjoy the
company of friends and
relatives ... Yes, we at
the Bell enjoy the same sort
of Christmas you do except
for one thing—many of us
will be on the job during
some part of Christmas keep-
ing our vital services open.
Even though you and I can
take a holiday, telephone
service must go on, But.
working on Christmas day
is not without its compensa-
tion. There's a happy, friendly spirit everywhere. which
adds a. special quality to this one day in the year. And,
incidentally, Christmas is one of our busiest days. We
handle a tremendous number of calls calls to neigh-
bours, calls to distant cities on this continent and, on
occasion, calls to other parts of fhe world. But the nice
thing about the great majority of these calls is that they
carry greetings of joy and good wishes. Perhaps this is
why telephone people get so much enjoyment out of the
role they play at Christmas. On behalf of all of us here
at the Bell, I would like to take this opportunity to wish
you a very merry Christmas and the best in health and
happiness for the coming year.
Remember, now you can get double value on station -to -
station long distance calls of 10 minutes or more within
Ontario and Quebec placed after 9 pmt any evening under
our new "Night -Economy Plan,"
Eketer, Centralia and Crediton new telephone directory will
be going to press December 31. So please check your
listing. Is your name spelled correctly? What about your
address and phone number? Have you thought about ad.
ditional listings? Other members of your family and
relatives, roomers or boarders would benefit from having
their names listed in the telephone book. If you are a
business man, you can use extra listings to show other
,
firm names for your business, to asociate your name
and residence telephone number with your firm name or
to show after hour numbers for you and your key employ-
ees. Remember, extra listings at little cost' make it easier
for people to find you. For any changes in your listings,
or any additions, call our business office without delay.
