The worship service was in

Airs. J. B, Ready and Mrs, Ivan
Hearn. The theme of the serv-
ice was the Three Wise Men.

Lucan council recently learn-
ed that, as a result of increased
water consumption while the
ice surface was being made at
the arena, the elevated tank
was empty for a period of
about eight days.
This left the village depend-
ent uponthe several under-
ground storage tanks for fire
protection.

Long before the hour of
last Wednesday evening, peo•
pie began arriving, at the Le-
gion Hall for the Lions Club
annual turkey bingo. Soon all
long tables were filled and card
tables placed in every .avail-
able coiner; and stilt the peo-
pie came, so all. :late comers
had to use chairs for tables.
Besides the 10 regular games
there were two share the wealth
games for $14 and $13.50 as
well as a draw for a 20 -lb,
turkey with 11 -year-old Joan
Nagle making the draw, anti
one free game,

shared the first "Share the
Wealth" with Mrs. Bernard.

in St. Joseph's Hospital Sun-
day, Dec, 10, The body rested

neral Home until 1,30 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 12 when it was
taken to Holy Trinity Church
for a funeral service in charge
of the Rev. E. O. Lancaster,
assisted by the Rev. J. F. Wag-
land, a former Holy Trinity
rector.
Pallbearers included Messrs.
Maurice Dupuis, 'Lynn Sawyer,
Bruce Lackie, Neil Lackie,
Dennis Franey and Ricky Fra -
hey. Interment was in St,
James cemetery, Clandeboye,
Besides her husband, Mr.

Mrs. Smith was a faithful
member of. Holy Trinity church
and altar guild, a member of
the library board and a past
librarian as well as a past Sun-
day School teacher. As an
artist. she has sold many of
her pictures, She got books at
the library at 4 p.m. Saturday;
took a heart attack at 11 p.m,
and died at the hospital at 2
p.m, Sunday.

for Christmas business last week after officers recovered over $1,500 in merchan-
dise stolen from Lucan and district over the past month and a half, The variety
of goods was found in various buildings on a Denfield farm, climaxing a six-week
investigation by police. Four youths charged with stealing the goods pleaded guilty
