The Exeter Hawks avenged
their Wednesday. night loss to
the liensall-Zurich Combines,
FridaY, when they.handed the
northern team their first loss
of the season by an 8-6 margin
in Exeter.
Playing before 275 fans, it
was one of the best games ever
witnessed in the local rink and
had the crowd on their feet
throughout most of the final

After leading t-3 at the end
of the second, the Hawks
watched the visitors take com-
mand with three goals in the
first, ten minues of the final to

came flying back to bang in
four tallies to wrap up the con-
test and even their season re-
cord with the Combines.
Bev Irvine, Jack Stephen
and Bob Armstrong paced the
local attack with a pair of
tallies each, while Dale Turvey
and Rick Boyle contributed
singletons.
Bill Shaddick, prolific scorer
for the Combines, triggered the
hat trick for the losers, and
Murray Bell, Earl Wagner and
'Lave Kyle accounted for the
titers.
