FORMER AREA REEVE
. . . . Myron Culbert
Carried on
despite fall
In the death of Myrop Cul.
bert, 77, of Alice St., a past
Biddulph reeve and councillor,
Lucan lost one of its most
cheerful, patient arid long-suf-
fering residents,
Fifteen years ago Mr, Cul-
bert fell off a barn, resulting in
months of hospitalization, op-
erations and suffering. Though
he recovered, he walked with
two crutches up to the time of
his death Nov. 19, but he car-
ried on cheerfully in spite of
his great handicap.
Since Mrs. Culbert's death
four years ago, he. looked after
his own home and garden, do-
ing his own canning and pick-
ling. Regardless of weather
conditions, he washed every
Monday and did his weekend
cleaning, evrry Saturday.
The fact he couldn't bend to
put on his shoes did not deter
him from harvesting his gar-
den, for he had a large box
on which he would lie, to pick
his strawberries etc.
Nor did his handicap keep
him from his church, where at
the time of his death he was
an honorary member of the
session,
To his many friends and
neighbors Mr, Culbert will al-
ways be remembered for his
cheerful resignation and for his
determination to carry on in
spite of his great hrdicap.
