Shopper's Supper Just combine canned maca- roni in cheese sauce, canned salmon and green peas. Pour into a greased casserole and top with buttered crumbs and packaged shredded or grated cheese. Tinted Cocoanut Balls Here is a recipe for tinted cocoanut balls just released from the Foods Department, Macdonald Institute, Guelph. Cream together until light and fluffy, 1 cup soft butter, 1/4 cup sifted confectioner's sugar and 2 tp vanilla. Stir in 1 tbl water and 2 cups sifted pastry flour, Mix well. Add 2/a cup chopped walnuts and 1/4 cup finely chopped well. - drained maraschino cherries. Shape into 1 -inch balls. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 300° for about 20 min- utes or until firm. Cool thor- oughly. Remove frompan. Dip cookies in a butter icing and roll in tinted cocoanut. Makes 4 dozen. Butter Icing Cream together 3 tbl butter, a dash of salt and 3 tbl con- fectioner's sugar. Add 3 tbl milk alternately with about 2 cups sifted confectioner's sugar. Beat until very smooth and of creamy consistency. Add 1 tp vanilla. To tint cocoanut Blend a drop or so of red or green food coloring with 1 tp water. In a jar or polyethy1. ene bag toss together with 11 cups shredded cocoanut, Spread a thin layer on a cookie sheet or dry for a few minutes in a slow oven.
