if you toss together this tasty
casserole.
Shopper's Supper
Just combine canned maca-
roni in cheese sauce, canned
salmon and green peas. Pour
into a greased casserole and
top with buttered crumbs and
packaged shredded or grated
cheese. Bake at 375° until bub-
bly—about half an hour,
This gives the "shopworn"
cook time to set the table,
make a salad and simple des-
sert and refresh herself before
relaxing over supper with the
family,

Tinted Cocoanut Balls
Here is a recipe for tinted
cocoanut balls just released
from the Foods Department,
Macdonald Institute, Guelph.
Cream together until light
and fluffy, 1 cup soft butter,
1/4 cup sifted confectioner's
sugar and 2 tp vanilla. Stir in
1 tbl water and 2 cups sifted
pastry flour, Mix well.
Add 2/a cup chopped walnuts
and 1/4 cup finely chopped well. -
drained maraschino cherries.
Shape into 1 -inch balls.
Bake on ungreased cookie
sheet at 300° for about 20 min-
utes or until firm. Cool thor-
oughly. Remove frompan. Dip
cookies in a butter icing and
roll in tinted cocoanut. Makes
4 dozen.
Butter Icing
Cream together 3 tbl butter,
a dash of salt and 3 tbl con-
fectioner's sugar. Add 3 tbl
milk alternately with about 2
cups sifted confectioner's sugar.
Beat until very smooth and of
creamy consistency. Add 1 tp
vanilla.
To tint cocoanut
Blend a drop or so of red
or green food coloring with 1
tp water. In a jar or polyethy1.
ene bag toss together with 11
cups shredded cocoanut, Spread
a thin layer on a cookie sheet
or dry for a few minutes in a
slow oven.

1/12 cup figs
1/2 cup dates
1/2 cup cream
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Put fruit through chopper;
add cream and sugar; mix
well, Put on top of dough and
roll in a roll; slice and bake.

use of dilapidated snow fence.
"Some of it is rubbish which
isn't worth putting up," he con-
tended.
The township's first lady offi-
cial, Tax Collector Mrs. Beat-
rice Woods, made her initial
report to council, revealing that
payments to date t o t a 11 ed
$20,480, about $5,700 less than
last year,
It was one of the first times
a woman has attended the usu-
ally all-male nomination meet-
ing and Mrs, Woods brought
with her Mrs. W. J. Routly
"for moral support."
Treasurer Newton Clarke,
who has served for 31 years,
listed the many municipal offi-
cials with whom he has served
during that period before pre-
senting his financial report.
Other speakers at the meet-
ing were Road Sup't Routly,
former tax collector, Will Johns;
SHDHS Vice --Chairman Kenneth
Johns; and Wellington Brock,
