Stephen council authorized
the installation of a new ce-
ment floor in the basement of
the township hall, Crediton, at
its meeting Tuesday night.
The floor will be installed by I
C. A. McDowell Ltd., Centra -1
lia, and will be of two-inch tan-
colored cement..
The 1961 assessment roll
shows population of Stephen at,
2,626, an increase of 46 over
last year. This figure does not
include personnel at RCAF

Dancers began their' Saturday
night "rill` -dancing on Septem-
ber 23. Two squares turned out
and brushed up on previous
round and square dances.
Janet and Bruce Thorne, who
have just returned from •an
oversea tour, were welcomed
into the, club.
A new square, called "Yel-
low Polka Dot Bikini" was pre-
sented and thoroughly enjoyed
by all members.
Commencing Saturday, Sep-
tember 30, and each Saturday
evening up to and including
October 21, beginners will be
permitted to join the Saturday.
Night Dancers and special pro-
grams will be adopted to bring
the newcomers up to the level
of other members. An; invita-
tion is extended to all civilians
and service personnel to join
in an evening of fun and dan-
cing with the Centralia RCAF
Square Dancers,

WINS BURSARY — Carol Shot -
dice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Sholdice, W i n d s o r,
formerly of Ailsa .Craig, has
been granted a $250 bursary
by the Ontario Dep't of Edu-
cation to study at London
Teachers' College, where she is
now enrolled. She graduated
from Kennedy Collegiate, Wind-
sor, .and formerly .attended
North Middlesex High School
at Parkhill.
Blind campaign

a total of $360 but it's still far
short of its objective, Chair-
man S, B. Taylor reported this

The Senior Citizens club re-
sumed its meetings for the
winter season. on Tuesday eve-
