Fieldman — Continued from page 9 through co-ordination of truck- ing services. Also the producers of milk for cheese, butter and all other manufactured milk products are working on marketing ag- ency plans. If these two efforts. can be united I chart see the opportunity for great benefits. If they can not be united I fear that a division will take place that will be detrimen- tal to the whole industry. The basic problem in the milk industry apparently is the, unavoidable, small surplus pro- duction. The cheese producers for many years have been con- tributing to an export fund, to remove their surplus to main tain a reasonable price at home only to find surpluses from the other producers and even from Quebec reap equal benefits without contributing to the• export fund, At times this bias rendered the Ontario cheese producers efforts al- most useless. An over-all milk marketing plan, could take care of this average 2% surplus. Whether two separate marketing agen- cies can succeed remains to be seen. Incl.osinp just a few com- ments; .I have been hearing rather too many complaints about co- ops. I don't mind discussing these problems but 7 feel that the place for discussion of these complains is at the annual meeting or Board of Directors !meeting of your co-op. 1 can only repeat that there is noth- ing wrong with your co-op )that the members aren't responsible for or can't correct. On the News Agricultural Minister Hamilton stated im- ports of U.S. oats :lowered price 3t per bus, Does this make you happy? 8.1 "1'11 take your word that it's completely wash-and-wearl" ZITS Cenfra!ia Comments ay MRS.
