Kippen man weds teacher

Mary Louise Campbell and
John Gerald Moffatt exchanged
, marriage vows in a ceremony
at Botany Howard Road Uni-
ted Church before the Rev. F.
G. B-isdon Saturday, August 5
at 4 p.rn.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Campbell,
!Northwood, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Moffatt, Kippen.
Traditional bridal music was
played by Mrs. Jack Robertson,
who also accompanied the solo-
ist, Mrs, Robert Spence, who
sang "The Wedding Prayer''
and "0 Promise Me."
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther..the bride chose a floor-
length gown of pure silk organ-
za over taffeta styled with a
:fitted bodice, lilypotnt sleeves,
a bateau neckline and a 'bouf-
fant' ;skirt. Appliques of Swiss
embroidery accented the bod-
ice and skirt. A tiara of tear
drop pearls and rhinestones held
her fingertip veil of silk illu-
sion and she carried a white
Bible crested. with red roses,
stephanotis and trailing ivy.
'Mrs.. Gordon Anderson was
matron of honor for her sister,
and bridesmaids were Miss
Kathryn Campbell, also the
bride's sister, and Miss Marjo-
rie Smith, Senor attendants
were gowned alike in pink or-
ganza over taffeta with match-
ing hats, and carried bouquets
of blue and white shasta dai-
sies anid,, 1aby mums. Flower
girls, Sheila Campbell, and
Sandra 'Campbell, nieces of the
bride, were dressed in white
SHOWER BRIDE -ELECT
Miss Lillian Blair was host-
ess to the neighbors at a mis-
cellaneous shower for Miss
Patricia Cooper, bride -elect of
Saturday.
Contests were conducted by
:Barbara Morley and Verla
Smith. Mrs. Blair recited a
verse to the guest of honor and
gifts were presented by Barb-
ara Morley, Verla Smith and
Kathie livlacGregor with Judy
Mason. making the bride's bat
of the ribbons.
Assisting the hostess were
Mrs, Archie Ryekman, Mrs.
Otto Brown and Mrs. George
Davis.
Miss Donna Wells entertained
the bride -elect's friends at a
miscellaneous shower. The gifts
were presented in a basket car-
ried by Kathy Wells..
Mrs. Jim Young, town, aunt
of the bride -elect, also gave a
miscellaneous shower in her
honor. Joan McNaughton read
an address and Judy and
Norma Young presented the
gifts.

Eldred Moffatt, London, was
groomsman for his brother, and
Lloyd Campbell, brother of the
bride, and George ,Rether, Exe-
ter, ushered guests.
For the reception held for 125
guests in the church rooms the
bride's mother and the groom's
mother chose gowns of blue
organza with pink corsages.
For travelling to Western
Canada the bride donned a navy
blue shantung sheath dress with
matching jacket, navy and ma-
genta accessories and a gar-
denia corsage.
The couple will reside on the
groom's farm at Kippen.
The bride is a graduate of
London. Teachers' College and
will join the teaching staff at
Exeter in September.

Tile bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pickering,
RR 2 Dashwood, and the
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs, Nelson Rock, RR 3 Park-
hill,
The bride choose a street -
length gown of pure white silk
organza over tulle and taffeta
featuring a fitted bodice of
Queen Anne lace with elbow-
length sleeves. A white pillbox
crown of white chiffon sprin-
kled with pearlized rosebuds
held her shoulder -length veilfof
white net. She carried a white
Bible crested with a mauve or-
chid with stephanotis and lace,

attends tea
Seven WI members in the dis-
trict attended the second an-
nual Tweedsmuir tea held in
Brant Museum, Brantford on
Monday afternoon.
On display were Tweedsmuir
histories from the North Brant
District WI and several from
the branches in the district.
An attendant was in charge of
each- history to answer ques-
tions. or. offer suggestions.
Tea was served from 2 to 5
o'clock by the members of
Glenmorris WI.
The ladies also toured the
museum. The Brant County Dis-
trict WI are furnishing two
bedrooms one in the early period
style and. also donating a stain
glass window for the Mohawk
Chapel. The stained glass win-
dows depict the story of the Mo-
hawk Indians and are replac-
ing the former windows.
The ladies who went from the
district were Mrs. H, H. Strang
and. Mrs. Garnet Hicks of
South Huron District WI; Mrs.
Theron Creery, Elirn.ville WI;
Mrs. Arthur Rundle, Huron -
