2 tbl flour
1/4 tp salt
1/8 tp pepper
1 cup milk
Cook slowly until, thickened
stirring constantly,. Add cheese
and stir until cheese is melted.
Arrange asparagus on toast.
Serve with cheese sauce,

Glazed Strawberry Pie
My neighbor at the cottage
this weekend had a delightful.
.strawberry pie and she gave
me the recipe,
3 pints strawberries
1 cup boiling water
% cup sugar (a/z cup plus 2
tbl)
3 tbl cornstarch.
2 tbl lemon juice
shake of salt,
Bake a pie shell with a high
fluted edge.
Wash and hull berries, Mash
1 pint in saucepan, Mix the
cornstarch, sugar and salt
well and stir into berries, then
stir in the boiling water and
cook stirring until thick. Re-
duce heat until very low and
cook for five minutes stirring
constantly. Remove from heat
and force through strainer,
Add lemon juice. Do not add
lemon juice ahead of this stage

cession 4, died suddenly Fri-
day, May 26, at his late resi-
dence,
Mr. Fenton was a lifelong
farmer and a highly respected
resident of McGillivray Town-
ship.

sonic Lodge 154 AF & AM, Lu-
can, and a trustee of Brinsley
United Church.
Mr. and. Mrs. Fenton cele-
brated their golden wedding
anniversary December 7, 1960,
at their home.
Besides his wife, the 'former

Rhubarb and Strawberry
Marmalade
4 cups prepared. :fruit (1
lemon, 1 orange, about 1/2 lb.
rhubarb and 1 quart straw-
berries)
51 cups sugar
1 box powdered fruit pectin
Prepare fruit. Remove sldns
in quarters from lemon and
orange. Shave off and discard.
about half of white part. With
a sharp knife or scissors slice
remaining rind fine or chop or
grind. Add 44 cup water and
1/16 tp soda; bring to a boil
and simmer, covered, 10 min-
utes, stirring occasionally.
Section or chop fruit. Add to
cooked rind and. cook 15 min-
utes longer. Slice thin. about
2 lb rhubarb. Crush thorough-
ly 1 quart strawberries. Com-
bine all fruits and measure 4
cups into large sauce pan.
Add powdered fruit pectin to
fruit in saucepan And mix well.
Place over high heat and stir
until mixture comes to a boil.
Boil gently 1 minute. Add sug-
ar. Bring to boil and boil hard
]. minute. Remove and skim.
Ladle into glasses.
