OAC Friday night,
The debates were held at the
first session of the three-day
annual meeting of the Junior
Farmers' Association.
In the first debate on "Re-
solved that more control of
agriculturai production would
henefit. Canadian agriculture",
the girls took the affirmative
side, defeating 'Marie Marshall
rnd Ed. Segesworth of Halton
County.

Concannon -McKay
The United Church at. Dres-
den was the setting on Satur-
day, March 11 for the wedding
of Katherine McKay of Dres-
den and William Concannon of
London. After a reception at
the Rankin Hotel, Chatham,
the couple flew to Florida for
their honeymoon. They will
make their home in London on
their return.

Linda Bridger, daughter of

March 14 for her operation,

Last Friday night Mrs.
Thomas Brooke was taken by

heart attack.

bulance took Mrs. Oratio Simp-
son to Victoria for X-rays on

she slipped and fell in her

Residents of Lucan and vi-
cinity are still, shocked at the
suddenness with which men
ingitis took the life of one of
its prominent citizens, MrS.
Edgar McFalls,
Last Saturday, apparently in
the best of health, she accom-
panied Mr. and Mrs, Jack
Murdy to Kitchener, where she
spent the day with her brother,
Mr. Chester Sprowl, who is
seriously ill.
On Sunday she awoke with
a violent headache. On Mon-
day she was taken by the
Murdy ambulance to St. Jos-
eph's Hospital, but never re-
gained consciousness, dying
Thursday noon,
The body rested in the C.
Haskett and Son funeral home
here till Saturday when re-
moval was made to the United
Church for a funeral service
with the Rev. G. W. Sach and
the Rey, E, M, Cook officiat-
ing,
The pallbearers included
Messrs, Bob Murray, Don Ban -
ting, Charles Haggar, Don
Downs, Harold Corbete and
William McFalls, Interment
was in St. James cemetery,
Clandeboye.
So large was the funeral at-
tendance, that some had to he
accommodated in the church
school room. As for floral do-
nations, seldom has Lucan seen
so many.
Daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs, Charles Sprowl, Mrs. Me -
Falls spent all her life on
Frank St., merely moving a-
cross the street after her mar-
riage. Before her marriage
she was a member of Holy
Trinity; church choir and later
sang in the Presbyterian and
United Church choir.
She was a faithful member
of. -the 'United Chz-rch and a
member of the :flower commit-
tee, -since its organization and
at the time of her death was
convener of the committee.
She was a member of the
Women's ' Institute and this
year's sick and sunshine con-
vener,
Besides all her ontside activi-
ties she found time to help
Mr. McFalls with the mail.
route and to operate a beauty
parlor in her own home.
Besides her husband she is
survived by one 'brother, Ches-
ter Sprawl of Kitchen?, anti
one sister, Miss Jessie Smith
of Toronto.

pleted the sextet.
For the first time in several
years Medway finished out of
the playoffs.
