Writer resigns
after 15 years'
Mrs. joseph Woodall, The
Times -Advocate's correspondept
in Crediton for 15 years, has
retired because of ill health.
Mrs, M. Feist, who has as-
sisted Mrs. Woodall for many
years, has been appointed her,
successor.
"I have really enjoyed corres-
ponding for The Times -Advo-
cate", Mrs, Woodall said on her
retirement. "Many people have,
told me hop much they appreci-
ated reading the Crediton news
over the years."
Besides keeping her commun-
ity in the news,Mrs. Woodall
i
has been active n a number of
organizations. She is a past
president of the WA, a former
Sunday School teacher and .one
of the first, members of the WL
She was a choir leader for 30
years.
Four y.ears ago, she and Mr,
Woodall c,elehrated their golden
wedding anniversary. They have
four children: Elgin, Detroit;
Mrs. Jack Pryde, Exeter; Bill,
Windsor, and Mrs. Gil Martin,
Lambeth.
Mrs. Feist is also active in
the community, particularly in
the Ladies Aid of the . EUB
church in which she has held
several offices. She has one son,
Lewis, a telephone engineer now
stationed in Sudbury.
Mrs. Feist used to assist in
the general store which- her late
husband and his brother ran for
many years.
Mrs. Faist will welcome news
from people in the district, Her

Brokenshire clan
The twenty-secOnd lirekenshire
reunion was held Sunday
Riverview Park, Exeter with 65
in attendance,
Attending the reunion were
Mrs. Elia Sims, nee Broken -
shire, of Exeter," who this year
celebrated her ninetY•fifth birth-
day, also Mr, Mark Brokenshire
of Dashwood. They are the- only
surviving members of the origi-
nal Brokenshire family,
Other members of the clan
were present from Hamilton, St.
Thomas, London, Atwood, Ldeatt,
Crediton, Grand Bend, Dash-
wood and Zurich.
The sports committee enter-
tained both old and young with
games and contests.
The officers for' 1959-60 were
elected with IL W. Brokenshire.
Zurich, named as president, and
Mrs. H. W. Brokenshire as sec-
retary -treasurer. Table commit-
tee includes Mrs, Lorne Lucas,
Atwood, Mrs. H, F, Hill, Hamil-
ton, and Mrs. Charles George,
London; sports committee, Mr.
and Mrs. Jaines Wilson, Exeter,
and Mrs, William George, Lon-
don.
Squire family
The Squire reunion, which was
to have been held In Riverview
Park, Exeter, on Saturday, was
held in Trivitt Memorial Parish
Hall due to weather conditions.
About 30 sat down to dihner at
noon. The afternoon was spent
in cards and a social time,

election of officers for 1960 was
held. President is Frank Squire;
secretary - treasurer, Mrs. La -

Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Squire

It was decided to hold the pic-
