venedby Mrs. Nelson Lamport
and she was assisted in the de-
votional by Mrs. R. Reid.
President Mrs. E. Lamport
led the business portion of the
meeting and reports were given
and plans made to prepare
quilts for a bale.

meeting of the Shipka ladies and
to the daffodil party sponsored
b'y the Exeter brueli of the
cancer sOciety, Tuesday evening,
'April 7 in James Street church,
Exeter.
Mrs. E. Lamport and Mrs.
Garfield Hill were hostesses for
the social hour which followed
the meeting.

Nelson Sinclair
Stephen farmer
Following a lengthy illness
Nelson Sinclair died at South
Huron Hospital on Thursday,
March 12' in his 79th year.
Mr, and Mrs. Sinclair farmed
for many years in Stephen Town-
ship and later retired to Cred-
iton. They marked their golden
wedding anniversary over one
year' ago.
Surviving, besides his wife,
the former Lillian Smith, are a
sister, Mrs. Lulu. Eagleson of
Dashwood and a brother, Ernest
Hutchinson of Preston.
Service was heldat the T.
Harry Hoffman funeral. home in
Dashwood on Saturday and was
conducted by Rev. R. S. Hiltz.
Interment was in Crediton
cemetery.

barn doors were blown open and

phone lines here were all right
but some lines were out for a
short while.
Mr,' Harry Squire has pur-
chased the grass farm from Mr.
Leon Paul the past week after
losing his own barn by fire four
weeks ago. This farm was for-
merly the Switzer farm. •
