Whether to accept a two -weeks,
all -expense -paid holiday trip for
two to Hawaii, to the Caribbean
or accept the equivalent in .cash
is the $64 question which con-
fronts Mrs. George Lamont,
Alitchell. Airs. Lamont 'is the
former Kathleen Strang of this
community, sister of. Mrs. Car-
man Cann and 11. H. G. Strang,
Usborne Township.
Mrs. Lamont was named sec-
ond prize winner in the Better
Fionles and Gardens new cook
book contest in which she. de-
scribed why she liked her favorite
recipe in the cook book.. 'First
prize in the contest was a seven -
week trip to Europe for two but
Airs. Lamont is quite happy with
her award. "We definitely are
going to take a Trip although it
may not be to either Hawaii or
the Caribbea.n.• Bermuda is one
possibility that we are consider-
ing," said Mrs. Lamont.
1-Ielping the winner .in her de•

George L' amont, . minister of the
Presbyterian church at Mitchell
and two children, Elizabeth, 12,
who is in grade 8 and John, six,

The .favorite recipe which Airs.
Lamont gave reasons for liking
was Scotch Shortbread. Here is
the recipe:

Cream butter. Gradually add
fine sugar or Mrs. Lamont uses
brown sugar; cream till light

to Lt to 1ti inch thickness.
Cut with cookie cutter in .fancy
shapes or strips and bake nn
ungreased sheet in slow oven
300 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes
or until delicately brown. This.
makes two to three dozen short -
breads.
This is ;the fourth tittle in five
years that Mrs. Lamont has
composed a contest entry to win
a major prize. She and her
daughter, .Elizabeth had an all -
expense -paid trip to Arizona a
