A warm sunset on Blueberry
Island off the north shore of
Georgian Bay is featured on the
cover of the 1985 telephone
directory for London - St. Thomas
and surrounding area.
The picture was taken by
photographer Bud Watson of
Midland and will be on the cover of
all Bell Canada directories in
Ontario this year. Peter Croome,
local Bell manager, said 250,000
copies will be delivered from
November 12 to November 27.

The speakeasy made a furtive return to Blyth last weekend when the Blyth Festival opened on in a furtive
location [actually the stage of Blyth Memorial Hall.] Here in the casino Don McCaffrey, Joan Chandler and
Con Van Vliet gather around the games of chance.
On Sunday, November 17 at 1:00
p.m. artist Audrey Holrod of
Hanover will be the guest of honour
at a reception in the Blyth Festival
Gallery to mark the occasion of her
59th birthday and her current solo
exhibition. For Miss Holrod, spe-
cial events like these are worth
celebrating.
An illness forced Miss Holrod to
retire from her former profession
early, leaving her with time to
pursue professional art. Recurring
health problems limit the kinds of
projects and media she can work in,
but she has not allowed this to stifle
her creativity. She has experiment-
ed with photography, photo-
composition, watercolour and pas-
tels, using the media in fresh
original ways that one would
expect to come from a young new
artist. She is atrue testament to the
saying, you're only as old as you
think. Recognition of her talent has
risen quickly in the last five years
as she has won prizes at juried
shows in Owen Sound, Walkerton,
Durham, and Tobermory.
"Having Audrey's work on
display is like having a group show
from one artist," says Joan
Chandler, gallery director. "It's a
refreshing step into a bright, clear
winter wonderland. It makes me
almost eager for the cold weather
to set in."
Miss Holrod's exhibition contin-
ues throughout November, Every-
one is cordially invited to attend the
