A candle light service was held
at Emmanuel Evangelical United:
Brethren .Church on Sunday,
with Rev. A. M. Amacher in
charge. After the singing. of
Christmas carols, Johnny Geiger
led in prayer, and Sandra Selma
read the Scripture lesson.
The pageant, ' 4,S bining
Candles," was presented by the
junior choir and -members of the
junior Sunday School. Gerald
Merner was the ,eandle lighter
for the letters of the word.
"Christ." Recitations were .given
by Phyllis Schade, Joan Rader,
Donna Kipper, Murray Mc-
Adams, Donald Geiger and .Ste-
phen Mack. ElizabethJohnston
sang a solo, and a duet was
sung by Helen Grainger and Roy
McAdams.
Mrs. Milton Gesell, director of
the choir, was the pianist for the
evening. Miss Olive- O'Brien and
Mrs. Clare Geiger assisted in
the training of the children. Mrs.
Milton McAdams and Durward,
Airs. K. M. Breakey and Mrs.
W. A. Siebert arranged the de-
tails for the holding of the
candle light service.
The Amacher quartette sang,
and Mrs. A. M. Amacher gave
the Christmas message,
Jesus had not come."
The church looked beautiful
in the candle light. A lovely
star grac'ed the front entrance
of the church, made by Durward

Little Stewart Turner, son of

suffered second degree burns to
both hands last Saturday,
His mother had him bundled
up, except for his mitts, ready
to go to visit his grandparents,
when he tripped on the corner
or the register and fell with his
hands under him on the hot SOP -

Being unable to get up him-
self, lie suffered severe burns
on his hands.
