The Hensall Public Utilities
Commission has officially opened
its new $10,000 building on main
street beside TwitcheWs Garage.
The new building replaces the
Joynt premises as the commis-
sion's quarters. It marks the
third time since 1937 that the
PUC office has been' Wye& In
'37, it was located where Brown's
IGA store•now stands, and then
it was moved to the Petty block.
About '51, the Utilities' office was
moved into 'half, of Joynt's stere,
and now it has another new loca-
tion. Hydro first came to Hensall
in 1916.
The new PUC building is 70' x
23'. Besides the 'convenient busi-
ness office and showroom, the
building houses a workshop and
a large storage room. A garage
is located at the rear of the
buliding.

Following the meeting, Charles
Ilford told The TA that the
Chamber of Commerce would
now embark on a "get out the
vete" campaign. "Our six Week
campaign to get ratepayers to
this meeting has obviously been
Successful,' he said, "Now we
will try to get the voters out to
the polls. We will set up tele-
phone committees to contact all
voters and will get out hand-
bills. We will probably have a
.few surprise features to help
arouse the voters' interest as
well," he said. ;
Plan For Christmas Business
Hensall businessmen are hav-
ing•a. "pot of gold" draw in cash
prizes with tickets given for
every dollar's worth of merchan-
dise purchased.
On December 6, a draw will be
made Or $50 in cash; on Decem-
ber 13 for $100; on December 20
for $150, and on December 24,
for $200.
Stores will be open every week
day during December, also Fri-
day aid Saturday nights. There
will be free skating at the local
arena every Saturday afternoon
for everyone.

The Woman's 'Association of
Si, Andrew's United Church,
Kippen, held a successful bazaar,
bake sale and tea in the church

realized approximately $200.
The Provincial Chapter of the
1,0,1),E, has awarded a $300 to
Ted Norniinton, of Rensall, a
second year science student at
University of Western Ontario.
Mrs. Earle Sproat visited re-
cently with Dr. and Mrs. Sproat
and family in Windsor.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Orr spent
Sunday visiting her mother wile
is a patient in Victoria HOspital,
Lenden.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bell, of
TOtortte, spent the week -end visit-
ing his father, Mr. W, R. Bell.

Byron Kyle did the painting,
and N. J. Corriveau, of Zurich,
supplied the cement blocks and

Furniture supplied the oak desk
and chairs.
Clark & Fuss Electric will
operate the building for the PUC
and will run an electrical -appli-
ance business in the same prem.
