William James Kennings of Hermiston, Oregon, during which visit his brother died at the age of seventy nine. From there he travelled to San Francisco where he visited his nephew, Albert, then to Port- land, Oregon, to visit with four nieces. Thence to Vancouver B.C. to visit his sister, Emma and family, and to Mission City to visit his nephew, Russell Payne. He continued from there to Calgary and visited more nieces and nephews and from there to South River, Ont., to conclude his trip with a visit to his sister Mrs. Mary Gable. Learns Of School The members of the 1'1'oinan's Missionary Society of Hensall United Church commenced the autumn -winter season with a supper meeting in the church school room on Thursday eve-, • ring. ' Highlight of the evening was an address by the guest speaker, Mrs. Harold Parker of Chisel - 1 burst, whom the week previous had attended the 24th annual Leaders' Training School at Al-. • ma College, St. Thomas. The • theme of the school was "Christ The Only Way." Mrs. Parker gave a vivid description of the varied program at the training 1 school where 300 women and girls attended. Applications had been so numerous that all could not be accomodated, which goes to show .the popularity of the school. , The speaker commented on "Making Our Faith Real to the World." "We must do something • to bring our Christianity down , to earth. W.M.S. members should I be well informed concerning the misison to the nations," she' said. Mrs. C. D. White and red gladioli backed by green fern made an arbour at the altar of the church, where Rev. George Wilson performed the ceremony. Mrs. Wallace Barbour played the wedding music and accompanied the solo- ist, Mrs. Auburn Wright, Erin, who sang "0 Lord Most Holy" and the Lord's Prayer. Given in marriage by her fa- ther, the bride wore a gown of white bridal satin, falling away in folds at the front from a panel of imported French lace. with long lily point sleeves, and yolk of the same lace, encrusted with sequins. Her skirt fell in pleats to a train of satin scallops bor- dered with lace and caught up with sequins. Her three -tiered finger tip veil was caught by a pearl and sequin coronet, and she carried a bouquet of white! frenched 'carnations and red! roses, with white bridal stream- ers. Miss Alice Howe,' Stratford, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and wore a waltz length gown of nile green organ, za caught up in panels by tiny flowers, over a double net skirt, with matching "accessories and velvet net head band: She car- riedtawny gold talisman roses and yellow carnations. Brides- maids, Anne Luke and Elma Stringer, Georgetown, wore gowns identical to that of .the maid of honor, in yellow and or- chid respectively. Miss Brenda Huxley, Hillsburgh, was flower girl, daintily frocked in rose, coral with matching floral head- dress and carrying a gasket of, white baby 'mums and pink flecked carnations, , Best man was Cpl. Kiel Gilbey, and ushers were Cpl, Bill Leitch and Constable Waugh, all of the RCMP, Ottawa.
