rict learned with regret of the
eath of Mrs. John B. Forrest.
who died at the Queensway
Nursing Home, Hensall, Satur-
day evening, July 19, in her 76th
ear.
The former Matilda Witmer,
she was born in the Kitchener
area, moving to Hay Township
when quite young. She has been
a resident of Hensall for the past
eighteen years.
A member of Carmel Presby-
terian church and a life member
of the Women's Missionary So-
ciety she was active in church
orga niza tions.
She was married twice; her
first husband, James Allan, died
n 1939. She was married to Mr.
'orrest in 1943. He predeceased
er in August 1947. Surviving
re one brother, Sylvanus Wit-
mer of Zurich.
Public funeral services were
held from the Bonthron Funeral
Chapel, :Hensall, Tuesday, July
22 with. Rev. Samuel. Kerr, min-
ister of Caven Presbyterian
Church, Exeter, in charge of the
service. Burial was in the E.U.B.
IEvanjelical cemetery, Zurich.

The new steel barn 40x100, on
the farm of Ken Etue on the
Bluewater Highway, 12 miles
north of Grand Bend, is nearing
completion. Mr. Etue lost his
former barn by fire recently,
Mr. Dave Shirray, Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Shirray, Douglas
and Bruce, left Wednesday for
Ottawa, where they will spend a
week vacationing with. Mr. Shir-
ray's sisters, Mrs. H. J. D.
Cooke, and Miss Agnes Shirray
of Ottawa.

gifts. AIthough taken completely
by surprise, Mrs. Belt expressed
her thanks.
A social hour of bingo and con-
tests were enjoyed. Twenty-one
friends attended the party, ar-
ranged by Mrs. Beaton and Mrs.
Smale.

tess at her home Monday
evening for a' farewell party and
presentation for Mrs. Mervyn
Bell, who left this week with her
husband and family for Winnipeg,
where they will take up resi-
dence.
