At Chicago
A. Sweitzer, .former presi-
dent of Exeter Lions and now an
international counsellor of the
organization, says he "toured"
93 countries of the world when
he attended the Lions' conven-
tion in Chicago last week.
To prove it, he brought hack
hundreds of souvenirs from
countries in all parts of the
world, Talking to delegates from
these nations" was as good as a
personal tour of the world",
said Mr. Sweitzer.
As one of the officials of the
Canadian delegation, he assist-
ed in greeting visitors at a hos-
pitality room set up by Canada
and distributed thousands of
souvenirs, many of which were
swapped for trinkets from other
countries,
Mr. Sweitzer said nearly eight
tons of souvenirs, ineluding
inapte sugar were distributed by
the Canadians.
Delegates from Lebanon, cen-
tre of the cold war, were present
butdid not discuss the rebellion.
Mrs. Sweitzer and Jim accom-
panied the counsellor to the con-
vention. ,
