TAKES IT WITH A SMILE—Derry Boyle, local sportsman who got up out of bed early
Sunday morning recently to help police round up several car jockeys who were
screeching their tires on pavement, got a "reward" the following weekend when he
woke up to find all four tires on his car flat. Despite considerable inconvenience and
the work indicated, above, Derry took the repercussions with a smile. "They'll learn,
.some day," he says philosophically. Complaints about car noise, speed, Minor acts of
vandalism have increased lately. Watching Derry pump, above, are his son, Ricky,
left, and Basil Crawford. Photo

To Plumber
Lorne Kleinstiver, a plumber
by trade, certainly wasn't plumb-
ing his way around the 5,605
yard layout Oakwood Golf Course
last weekend as he won low net
in the Exeter Golf Club's Fa-
ther's Day Tournament.
Known to many of his friends
by "Pee Wee", Lorne fired nine
hole totals of 45-42 for an 87 and
with his handicap of 24 he
dropped to a low net of 63. The
Dashwood shotmaker o n 1 y
parrad one hole on the first
nine but came back strongly on
the "in nine" with four more.
Smooth -stroking Hal Hooke
moved into second place honours
with nine hole totals of 42-42 for
a gross of 84. With a 3.6 han.dicap,
Hal wound up with a low net of
66 which was one stroke better
than third place finisher BM Mc-
Kenzie. Three pars on the "out
nine" and four in the home
stretch sparked the Exeter shoot-
er's game.
In the straight low gross divi-
sion, guest Ron Farrow practic-
ally pulled •the course apart with
13 pars and a birdie for a 70.
Ron took a double bogey on
the 218 -yard third but got one
stroke hack with a birdie on the
eighth. His pair of nine hole
totals of 38-33 topped all con-
testants in the tourney.

Bert Horton had trouble fish-
ing in the boat as he continually
kept losing his tackle, Filially he
cured the menace by using a
piece of rope with a piece of wire
as a leader. This didn't hurt his
catch at all as he continued to
pull fish galore into the boat.
One of the- most exciting mo-
ments on the trip was when Hor-
ton had a shot at a 'bear while
rounding a small island in one
of the lakes. He.rnissed the •boar
but it caused sonic confusion for
a few moments.
Mousseau, Scholl, Uwe and
Horton each saw plenty of wild
game on their outing - wild
ducks, mink, bear, 1110050 and
beaver were very active.
