Minor Teams
Hensall Kinsmen at their din-
ner meeting here decided to
sponsor three minor hockey
teams, Bantam, Midget, and Ju-
venile.
Guest speaker, C. Leybourn,
Toronto, spoke on "Safety Pa-
trol" and the setting uli of safe-
ty patrols in Hensall, (which
this group is sponsering,) Safety
Fatrols they have set up, and
Safety Councils in larger places.
The group teecided to give two
hours of free skating to the
children of the community on the
afternoon of December 24, the
afternoon before Christmas.
They also attended a joint
meeting of Exeter, S. Marys,
aid Stratford -Kinsmen held at
Exeter Thursday night.

Anniversary
On Wednesday, Decernber 4,
Mr, and .Mrs., George Follick,
prominent residents of this vil-
lage for over fifty -years, will
observe their golden wedding
anniversary. Their marriage of
fifty years ago was solemnized
in Hensall by the late Rev. S. M.
Toll, of the Methodist „Church.
Their . attendants were Mr. and
Mrs. Edgar McQueen, of Hensall.
Mrs. Follick, the former Bea-
trice McQueen, was born in Us-
bbrne ToWii hip. She is • a
member of the Hensall United
Church and Woman's Missionary
Society, and took an active part
in church activities when health
perniitted.
Mr. Follick, at the end of De-
cember, of this year, will have
completed forty-one years as
'manager in Hensall of the Wm.
Rennie Seeds Ltd. He is at pres-
ent honorary elder of the United
Church, was a former elder for
twenty-five years, a former
member of the choir of the
Methodist Church and United
Church for twenty years,, taught
Bible class for' approximately
twenty' years in the Methodist
And United Church, and was ac-
tive in the Young People's.
They, have a family'of two
daughters, (Nora) Mrs. William
Soldan. Hensall; (Mildred) Mrs.
Dave. Kyle, Hensall, eight grand-
children and one great-grand-
child.

Grand Bend; John Walper,
Woodstock; Elzar Mousseau,
Kippen; Herb Mousseau, Jim-

O'Brien, D. Walker, R. Bannis-
ter all of Zurich, and R. Grenier,
Grand Bend, returned home Fri-
day from a hunting expedition
to Balongy Bay, Manitoulin Is-
land, with their full quota of
deer, one each, and three foxes.
They found the roads from
Northern Ontario very bad with
icy conditions prevailing.

week for Ottawa where she will
spends the winter months with
her son-in-law . and daughter,

Mr. George Otterbein, of Pres"
ton, spent the past week with his

Messrs. Milton Russell, Jack
Smith and Jack Rankin, of Pe-
trlia, spent a few days at Ches-
ley Lake and report a good bag

Conduct Canvass
Hensall United Church took an
important forward -step on San -
day, observed as Stewardship
Sunday for the congregation,.
Fifty-six canvassers were con-
seerated as also were the con-
gregation at the morning service
by Rev. C, D. Daniel.. Canvassers
then went to the church school-
rooms for dinner, which was`
served by the Women's Mission-
ary, Society .of the church. Fol-
lowing dinner, they Vent out to
visit the homes of the whole
congregation, numbering two
hundred and fifty-three families..
They presented the Sector
challenge which is.: (1) The
interests of the people in the
church and the church program;
(2) The challenge to the homes
to make sure their children are
brought to Sunday School and
the parents with them to church;;
(3) More sincere interest in the
workings of the church and a
greater share in the cost of up-
keep of the church and its pro-
gram.

a sucessful bazaar, bake sale,
and tea on Saturday,
The county is digging up the
streets around the Community
sightseeing tours.

ket on the trip.
Merchants are also providing
`free skating at the arena on
Saturday afternoons.
Arena, parts of Brock, Richmond
and Elizabeth streets, and filling
it with gravel, which will he
paved next year with asphalt.
Beverley Hamilton was a
weekend visitor with 111r. and
Mrs, Sim Roobol,
Herb Hedden, who has been a
patient at South Huron. Hospital,
Exeter, has returned home.
Miss Myra Roobol, nurse -in -
training at Victoria Hospital,
London, spent the weekend with
her parents, Mr, ,and Mrs. Sim
Roobol.
Lieut. and Mrs. G. H. Craven
and son, Michael, of Dartmouth,
N.S., are visiting with the
latter's parents, Mr. and. Mrs.
Elgin Rowcliffa.
