Different reasons were given for this second can- eellation but the xnain idea, to this corner anyway, is that they have found it too tough to cope with the • pleasant weather which is keeping the farmers out in the fields longer and people just don't want to be bothered in the heat wave. ARGYEL, POPULAR NAME AT WOODBINE Old Woodbine seems to be a place of real popularity for a chap by the name of DUNG CAMPBELL and his "Big Three." The hole was 192 yards straight away. Actually there was nothing to worry about except the • trees on each side of the narrow fairway; a man-made lily pond in front of the tee for 200 feet or so; deep sandy bunkers all around the green and if you did happen. to hit a shot too far all you had to do was to come out of the rough -as we said not much to worry about (but we'll take the Bend any day). Conrad took • about two minutes to line up his shot and then punched .a beautiful iron shot that ended up six feet from the flag. The gallery naturally gave the smooth swinging artist a great applause. Next man to hit was MOE NORMAN.
