The Rev. Mr. Cogehall, as Americas Metho-
dist Minister, officiated, preaching from Cor.
xv. 96-" The Int enemy that shall be destroyed
•Death."
" Thou, bright Religion, cans* alone
O'er Death's assaults prevail :
Caught on thy radiant shield of faith,
1 saw his arrows fail.
Sweet cherub ! thou. o'er pallid grief,
Can't comfort's balm diffuse :
And from the tomb, where virtoe sleeps,
To Heaven exalt our views
Upheld by thee. my Eve hu cioe'd
Serene ber spotless life :
Pied the fond husband, to her God,
Aegiped his angel -wile.
Religions hope dispels the *ears.
By grief to memory given ;
The love that virtue rear'd oa'earth,
is perfected is !leaves."
