District Federation Ladies
Elect Officers in Stratford
The women of Zone 2 of the Ontario
Federation of Agriculture met in the
Department of Agriculture board
rooms in Stratford with fourteen wo
men attending from five of the eight
counties comprising the zone.
Mrs. Emerson Dessler of Elmira,
chairlady of the zone, presided and
called on the chairlady of each county
for a report on work carried on dur
ing the year by women in the Feder
ation, In most cases these reports
did not give evidence of the interest
one would expect on tpie part of farm
women at county level,
Huron County, with six delegates
present and Mrs. Tait Clark, of Car-
low, as county chairlady, reported
most interest with township women
representatives meeting regularly with
the men at the monthly meeting of
county directors.
Mrs. Dessler was re-elected as zone
chairlady, as was Mrs. L. D. Taylor
of Fergus, as vice. After several years
of good service as zone secretary, Mrs.
J. Scott Davidson, Britton, asked to be
relieved of her duties and Mrs. Earl

Shapton, of Exeter, was elected
secretary for the coming year.
Discussion on several resolutions
was a feature of the meeting and Mrs.,
Lloyd Taylor and Mrs. Earl Shapton
were appointed to act as a resolution
committee.
It was decided by resolution: That
the women of Zone 2 go on record in
giving strong support to the work of
the Ontario Temperance Federation;
That women in this federation zone
give their financial support, both in
dividually and in their local organiza
tions, to the Elizabeth Frey Society of
Toronto in setting up the Agnes Mc
Phail Memorial Scholarship Fund;
That driving regulations for this pro
vince be amended if necessary and
strictly enforced to prevent the
slaughter that is taking place on our
highways and county roads; That the
constitution dealing with representa
tion be presented and acted on at
O.F.A, annual meeting; That we re
commend that a field woman be pro
vided for the province by the Ontario
Federation of Agriculture; That pro
vision be made by the O.F.A. to send
a woman delegate to the annual meet
ing of the O.F.A.
Discussion on V.O.N. service in each
county brought out the information
that a survey of county services must
precede any definite action and it
was felt that each county would do
well to have this survey
preliminary step,
The annual meeting of
in the Ontario Federation
ture will be held in the King Edward
Hotel, Toronto, on October 31, and it
is urged that each county in this
zone send good representation to help
in making voice of the women from
the farm heard both in their own
meeting and in the general meetings
on the 3 days following.

Less feed for your laying flock means more
money in your pocket: It's possible with
SHUR-GAIN Super Laying Mash as good
poultrymen everywhere are finding out.
Supper Laying Mash is a “high-efficiency” feed
which is extra fortified with energy, proteins, miner
als and vitamins. When a hen fills up on this type
of ration her maintenance requirements are looked
after on a smaller amount of feed so that more is
available for egg production. With ordinary “lower
efficiency” rations a hen has to “cram” so much in to
look after the maintenance needs that she has very
little left over for egg production.
Now with SHUR-GAIN Super Laying Mash poul
trymen are getting a higher rate of laying and are
producing a dozen eggs on even LESS than 4 lbs. of
feed. Tests at the SHUR-GAIN Demonstration
Farm also prove the superior performance of
“Super”.
Try your flock on SHUR-GAIN Super Lay
ing Mash and make EXTRA profits.
