The event will be known as “Hard ware Week” and will involve the big gest advertising and merchandising campaign ever conceived by the hard ware industry. “Hardware Week” will be observed throughout the entire continent of North America April 15-23 by almost 25,000 independent hardware stores. In Canada, almost 2,000 member stores of the Canadian Retail Hardware As sociation will lead the campaign. 32 of this country’s most prominent hardware and housewares manufac turers, in conjunction with wholesal ers all over Canada, are supporting these stores in this "once-a-year op portunity week” for consumers. To make Canadians conscious of the exceptional quality and service avail able through their local, home-owned hardware store, Stainton’s has stocked up on the latest power tools, electric appliances, Do-It-Yourself gadgets, sports equipment, kitchen needs, gar den tools as well as the every day line of hammers and saws, nuts and bolts. Many hardware items will be marked down or offered at amazing bargain prices to show consumers that the local hardware store still operates on a competitive basis. Stainton’s will be decked out in its Sunday best for the occasion, includ ing colourful pennahts and gay eye catching display counters. Percy Stainton says "Hatdwatd Week” means "open house” and urged folks to "come in and browse around even though you don’t need anything in the hardware lino at this time.” Wingham Auto Wreckers Wingham Joseph Clark, Prop.
