HARRY PRESS The entire community at Belmore was saddened on Saturday morning when it was learned that Mrs. Harry Press, one of its most beloved citizens, had passed home. Mrs. Press Friday night covered by her husband when he went to help her up as usual on Saturday morning. Mrs. Press was the former Helen Jane Proctor of Thornbury. She had just passed her 66th birthday. As the result of an illness 25 years ago, Mrs. Press was confined to a wheel chair from that time on. She came to Bel more about 13 years ago when Mr. Press took over the post office and store. Though not able to walk, Mrs. Press did not .give up, as many would have done, but she learned to do all of her housework from a wheel chair, washing, ironing, baking, meals, etc., and when her was done her hands were Many a man appreciated socks she had knitted or pair of warm mitts, and many homes in the community display some of her beautiful hand work. A Presby terian W.M.S. bale was never complete without some of. her knitted articles. While a young woman, Mrs. Press Was always very active in all commun ity affairs. Later, when all this was denied her, it must have been very hard to bear, but she. was never heard to complain, and was always willing to help in any way she could. Her unfailing cheerfulness was an in spiration to all who came to know her. She took charge of the library for over nine years (for a very small re muneration) and made many happy contacts through this work. She will be long remembered for all these ser vices. She leaves to mourn, her husband, one son, K. C. and one grandson, Rus sel, all of Belmore; also three sisters, Misses Ida and Tena Proctor and Mrs. George (Edith) Holmes, all of Thornbury. The heartfelt sympathy of the community is extended to all of them. The body rested at Church’s funeral home in. Teeswater until Monday, when the funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church, Belmore, at 12 noon, with burial in Thornbury. Rev. J.
