Move Accountant To Paris Branch Mr. Angus McLean, who has been accountant for the past 22 months at the Bank of Montreal here, has been transferred to Paris. Mr. C. B. McRoberts, of the Market Square branch of the Bank of Montreal, London, has been transferred to Hensall. Mr. McLean was the present treasurer of the Hensall Kinsmen Club, and Mrs. McLean, treas­ urer of the Kinette Club. Mr. and Mrs, McLean and their six-year-old daughter, Kathy, expect to move to Paris in the very near future. „ Personal Items Mrs. Hugh McEwan is a pa­ tient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Mr. Ern Shaddick who has been confined to his home with ill­ ness is improving nicely. Harold Hedden, Dres­ den; Vernon, Russell and Or­ ville Hedden, St. Catharines, and Mrs. Ruth Carter of Clinton, visited their mother, Mrs. Cath­ erine Hedden, who is ill in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, and al­ so spent the day with Mr. Herb Hedden, and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Shorthouse, Mrs. E. McQueen, who is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, is improving and expects to return home shortly. The staff of the Bell Telephone enjoyed a banquet dinner at the New Commercial Hotel, Hensall, on Wednesday evening, followed by a theatre party. Mrs. B. Davidson of Bruce^ field was guest speaker at the Christmas party of the Women’s Missionary Society of the United church on Thursday. Mrs. Davidson spoke on “The Old Story of the first Christ­ mas.” “Let us not forget the joy and peace of nineteen hund­ red years ago at the birth of the baby Jesus who came to thek earth to make the world a hap-;> pier and joyous place” she said. A social hour the close of the Personal Items Mrs. Robert ___| underwent an operation in ton General Hospital, was to return .home last week. Mr. Max WiJUans, aged 60, Ailsa Craig, dropped dead with heart seizure, while loading square timbers in the C.N.R. freight yards, Hensall, on Mon­ day. Dr. J. C. Goddard, coroner, pronounced death instantaneous. The body was removed to the Bonthron funeral home and later to the Stephenson funeral horhe in Ailsa Craig. Mrs. Hugh McEwin Sr., who was taken jll at her home last week, was removed to South Huron Hospital, Exeter, where she is receiving treatment. Mr. William Kerslake, of St. Marys, is spending a few weeks with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Kerslake. Messrs. Ronald Passmore and Bill Kerslake spent Monday in Toronto. Miss Donna Gilbert, Mrs. Louise Gilbert and Mr. C. Brooks, of London, visited re­ cently with Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Orr and Jim. Mr. and Mrs. John Hocking entertained at a family dinner on Saturday everting in honor rtf the birthday of Mrs. Hocking’s twin brothers, Mr. William Har­ per, of Hibbert^ and Mr, John Harper, of Fullarton, who with their families, were present for the occasion. A large crowd attended the annual Christmas entertainment of S.S. No. 6, which was held on Monday night in the school. In a varied program of music and drama, the pupils performed remarkably well. Some of the outstanding num­ bers were “The Christmas Story,” a Christmas cantata, “Up the Chimney,” and a rhythm band. The music was under the supervision of their music teacher, Mrs. Sturgiss, When returning home from London on Friday, Walker's truck was in collision with another truck and a car on No. 4 Highway.
