GRADUATES — Mrs. Barbara Cutting Uhrynuk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cutting of Grand Bend, graduated from the Hospital for Sick 'Children, To­ ronto, last week. Mr. and Mrs, Cutting and, son, John, attended the graduation exercises in Con­ vocation Hall Wednesday even­ ing. Mrs, Cutting also attended a mother and daughter banquet with Barbara, which was held at the residence on Tuesday evening. • con- two To Lay Charges Over Accident Charges are pending 'in nection with an accident miles south of Hensail on Friday in which two cars suffered dam­ ages amounting to $2,000. A vehicle driven by Gordon Troyer, R.R. 2 Hensall, was pro­ ceeding south on No. 4 when it made a left hand turn in front of the second vehicle, driven by J. Ross- McArthur, Paisley, who was attempting to pass. The Mc­ Arthur car crashed into the east ditch but there wdre no injuries. OPP Constable George- Mitch­ ell investigated the accident, his first since being transferred here from Kitchener. One car ended up on a Huron St. lawn Friday night when two Vehicles driven by Hensail dish rict men collided w.est of the railroad tracks. Both cars, driven by Douglas Brintnell and. Murray. Harburn, were travelling west when Brint­ nell attempted to make a left hand turn. Harburn, who had pulled out to pass him, collided broadside with the Brintnell ve­ hicle and drove it onto the lawn of Irwin Ford. Damages amounted to $200. Police Chief Reg Taylor investi­ gated. Last Wednesday Mrs. Laban- nah Hodgins, Mrs. Earl Shapton, Mrs. Bruce Shapton, and Mrs, Herman Powe attended a trous- sea tea given by Mrs. Irene Coursey, Lucan, in honor of her daughter Marion, bride elect of Saturday. Ferguson. 55 Percent Take X-rays Fity-fi-e percent of residents in South Huron had their, chest x-rayed for tuberculosis last week. Of 5,706 people recorded in the census taken previously to the clinics, 3,148 took advantage of the free service offere'd by Hurpn County TB Association .in co-operation with government health department. One. clinic is, still t,to’-be heard from. “ ' Almost" half of them atthhded' the two-day clinic in Exeter Thursday and Friday. ’ The mobile unit at the arena took x-rays- of 1,459 persons. ’ Hensall clinic reported the' largest percentage with 577 of 793 attending. ■ In Zurich, 568 out of 1,012 per­ sons received x-rays. Snell of Exeter addressed the graduating group of Seaforth District High School on Friday afternoon. Mrs. I. Mosher Dies In Pontiac Funeral services for Mrs. Mel­ ia Mosher, 55, who died Saturday at the home of her brother, Roy Neeb of Pontiac, Zlich., was held oi) Tuesday from the Hoffman funeral home, Dashwood, con­ ducted by Rev. W. Krotz assisted by Rev. E. Wattam of ■ Grand Bend. Burial was made in Exeter cemetery. o Mrs. Mosher was a native of near Dashwood, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Neeb. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Tetreau, Grand Bend and two brothers, Roy of Pontiac and Earl of Lemon Grove, Cal. Pall bearers were Charles Snell, Ir­ win Tieman, Sydney, Herbert and Harvey Neeb, and Wilbur Glenville. FIDDLER'S CONTEST—William Hyde, veteran Hens all fiddler, wiU be among the contestants at' Hensail Chamber of Com­ merce1 competitions Friday night. Top Fiddler Defends Title Roy ’Renwick, of Brampton, grand champion old-time fiddler in the Ontario contest > held in Hensdll last’ year in competition with 75 fiddlers, will defend his title again on Friday, June 8. M^ Renwick, a captain with Trans-Canada Airlines, currently flying out of Toronto to Winni­ peg, Windsor and Montreal, was born at Lucknow, Ont., lived briefly in Wingham, and was raised and went to school in Teeswater, He has been fiddling since he was seven years old except for the ^var years when he was in the airforce, He took up fiddling seriously t about 1950 and started playing fiddling contests in 1952. He went to Louisville, Kentucky in 1953-54 and placed i 1 the mon­ ey in both contests. Hensail Chamber of Commence officials, sponsors of the contest, expect over 80 fiddlers to com­ pete in the various- classes. The program will also feature step and square dancing. Rosary Crusade At Seaforth Park Most Rev. John C. Cody, D.D., LL.D., Bishop of London, is sponsoring The Fatnily Rosary Crusade in conjunction with the marking of the Centennial Cele­ brations being, held throughout the Diocese of London this year. Under the direction of Rev. Pat­ rick Peyton, C.S.C., a .series of ten Rosary Crusade RaUies will be held throughout the Diocese of London. St. James’ Parish, Seaforth, has been chosen as headquarters for one of these rallies, which will he held on Friday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m, and will be host to 12 parishes in this northwest part of the Diocese. C, Smith, Grand Rend, conducted the funeral on Tues­ day from the Hoffman funeral home of Carlyle Taylor, 46, who died in Victoria Hospital, Lon­ don, on Saturday after a Short illness.» Mi4. Taylor farmed near Grand Bend. Surviving are his wife, the former Nola Wilson, five daugh­ ter?, Loraine, Eleanor, Karen, Kathryn, Brenda and one son, Larry all at home; one sister, Mrs. Arnold Gratton of Grand Bend, and’ two brothers, Keith Taylor of Mitchell, and Lawrence Taylor, Grand Bend. Interment was in Grand Bend cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed­ die Gill, Arnold De^jardine, Ken­ neth Hodgins, Hugh Lqvb, Lloyd Love and Fergus Turnbull.
