Lorne Ballantyne, of R.R. Exeter, placed in the second group. Goes To Lucknow, Too The heifer champions also went to Lucknow. Jack Kennedy, of R.R. 1, captured the honor. Carol Pepper, of R.R. 3 Setuforth, was reserve chain. • .Grant Hodgins, of R.R. 1 oran- ton, placed in the top group of this section. Included in the se- cond group was Doris ,Cornish of R.R. 1 Woodham. Placing -next to Gaunt in the showmanship •contest were Bert Pepper, of R.R. 3 ,Seaforth, and Jim Coultes •of Belgrave. In inter -club competition, the throe steers owned by Keith Coa- tes, 'Norman Hyde and Allan Rundle won first prize over si- milar groups from seven other 4-H clubs. Kirkton placed second. 4-H Beef Clubs • Keith Coates of, R.R. 1 Centra- lia, won both call and showman- ship honors in the Exeter 4-H Beef Club competition Thursday., His Hereford calf received 390 of a possible 400 points to top the steer section of the club. The judge .awarded him 95 of a pos- sible 100 for his showing techni- que. Second place winner was Doris Cornish, of R.R. 1 Wood- ham, one of the family of seven who lost their home in an Us - borne township fire recently. The third spot was captured by Mar- ion IMay of R.R. 1 Centralia. Marilyn Marshall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Marshall, R.R. 1 Kirk - ton, Placed second. In the junior division, the calf shown by IMarilyn's sister, Patsy, was awarded 311(2 points, one more than the calf shown by Lorne Hern, brother of Thomas..
