The dedication ,service for the
new manse for the Grand`•Bend
and Greenway United Chureh.es
was .held in Grand Bend 'Church
on Tuesday evening, May 31, with
representatives from, different or-
ganizations and, friends of the
congregations, in all, about 250
in attendance.
The service was conducted by
The ,Pastor, Rev. W. C. 'Smith.
The dedicatory address was given
by Rev. C. C. Washington, Chair-
man of tithe Presbytery, and the
prayer of dedication by itev. W.
C. Parrott, Secretary of Huron
Presbytery, Mr. James Dalton,
Reeve of Grand Bend spoke.a few
words an .behalf of •the Council.
Special music was provided by
the choirs of Grand Bend and
Greenway Churches. Both the
church and the manse were beaut-
ifully decorated with 'bouquets of
spring flowers.
The keys of the manse were
presented by Mr. Wilbert Young,
chairman of the building com-
mittee, to Messrs. Russell Brown
and Arthur Baker, representing
the trustee ,boards of tie two
charges.
• The inspection of the manse
followed the' service with Rev,
and Mrs. Smith. the Manse Com-
mittee, and Mrs. Harold Brophey
and Mrs. R. Kading, Presidents
of the two Woman's Associations,
receiving the guests.
Lunch was then served In the
Sunday 'School room with the el-
derly ladies of the two congrega-
tions pouring tea -Mrs. Mary Gill
and Mrs. John Brown being the
oldest members on the charges,
Also pouring tea were Mrs. Ger-
omette, Mrs. Ellen Desjardine,
Mrs. Emmeline •Desjardine, Mrs.
Herman Gill, Mrs. Sarah Hamil-
ton, Mrs. EIizabeth .Smith, Mrs.
Annie Brenner and Mrs. Hettie
Lovie of !Grand Bend, and Mrs.
W. T. Mons, Mrs. Joseph Horn-
er, Miss Sophia Young, Mrs. H.
Harlton, Mrs. Joseph Eagleson,

Lodge No. 219 and members of
the True Blue :Order, and friends

congregation with a well chosen
sermon for the occasion, The
Lodge Chaplain read the .second
lesson: Mr. Kenneth Flear' sang
an appropriate solo. The London'
Hackett Juvenile and the Wgod-
ham Fife and Drum Bands were
in attendance. Mr. John Ham-
mond, Chief Agent of the Orange
Insurance, of Alvinston, Mr, Wm.
Catford, Asst. Deputy Master for
Ontario West, •of Sarnia, and Mr.
Harold Watson, Asst. Deputy for
the Grand Black Chapter for On-

ed in lunch at the picnic pavilion

years ago. Surviving are one sis-
ter, Mrs. Phehe .A,yery of Moline,
Ill., One brother, Harry of Stephen.

The remains tested at the T.
Harry Koffman funeral home,
Dashwood, Where the funeral took
place on Wednesday. Burial was.
