Falconer and his family were badly shaken up Sunday when his cutter slid around on an icy turn, and upset, and the colt that he was driving ran away after dragging him for some distance. None were ser­ iously injured but the cutter was bad­ ly broken up. There "has been quite an epidemic of radios among the households who have lately had hydro installed, and almost every home in the village has its radio. Mr. and Mrs. John Purdon and family spent Saturday with her par­ ents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Bolt of Marnoch. Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell of Wingham also kept Christmas there. Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson, Mr, and Mrs. Ross Robinson, and Mr. Calvin Robinson, of Tilsonburg spent Christmas at the home of their father, Mr. Thos. Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Robinson, of Wingham, spent the day there also. Mrs. Dan Martin who underwent an operation for goitre in Toronto Gen­ eral Hospital, is recovery. Splendid Xmas programs were giv­ en at the Presbyterian Church Mon­ day evening* last, at the Hall by the pupils of S. S. No. 10 on. Tuesday ev­ ening and at S. S. No. 14 W. Wawa- nosh on Wednesday night. Douglas, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Newman, has been very ill with the flue that is going its rounds among the young people. Miss Bertha MacKay of Stratford spent the Xmas holiday with her par­ ents, Mr. and Mrs, Hector MacKay. Mr. Hank Kruger motored from Detroit last week, and Mrs. Gillies and Mr. Thos. Henderson and his.son Andrew, returned with him, to spend the holiday week with relatives there. This community was sorry to hear of the death of an old resident of E. Wawanosh on Wednesday last in the passing of Mrs. David Clow. This community extends sympathy to Mrs. J. Brandon of Belgrave in her bereavement. Mr. Brandon was a friend of many in Whitechurch and vicinity. Miss Susan Carjick, of Windsor, spent the week-end with her father, Mr. Robt. Carrick. The young people of Brick church held a social evening at the home of Mr. Thos. Robinson on Monday ev­ ening in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Robinson. The young people pre­ sented the mwith a purse of money. Mr. Fred Lott lias been working at Kap-uskasing for the past few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Cox spent Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patterson, of Auburn. Mrs. Andrew Fox and Lettie spent the week-end at Lucan with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Patten. A. M. Boyle acting as chairman and Miss Doris Scott at*the piano. The junior pupils presented choruses, solos, songs, drills and recitations. Miss Dorothy Boyle of Toronto gave two pleasing solos “The Carnival” and “Brahm’s Lullaby,” The senior pupils gave two short plays, first “The Old Maid”, The cast, Mrs. Jno. McBurney, Doris Scott, Isabel Leitch, Alex. Porterfield and Alex. Young. The cast for the second play "You’re a Cuckoo” was, Mrs. 0, G. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs, Clifford Logan, Morris and Ken I.eitch, The music was fur­ nished by Charlie Scott and Nor­ ma Boyle and an orchestra compos­ ed of Freda Jordan, Elaine Walsh, John and Ken Leitch.
