At the board meeting in Seaforth Tuesday night (post- poned from Monday because of Remembrance Day) Trustee Vincent Young of Goderich outlined the recommendations to the board from the Family Life Advisory Committee which included: that the family life course be continued at the grade 8 level over an extended period of time in order to provide more opportunity for greater in depth discussion and presentation: that a pilot d projelieinctiatea -ill grade 7 in at least one school; that serious consideration be given to the engagement of a co- ordinator to integrate religion, guidance and health in conjun- ction with family life; that if a co-ordinator is engaged, con- sideration be given to a pilot project in the primary division; and that teachers continue to be encouraged by the board to attend family life courses. "If the program is to be a success, we need a co- ordinator", Mr. Young stated and superintendent of education John Vintar said he agreed. While agreeing with the need of a co-ordinator, Howard Shantz of Stratford said he hoped the program would get started earlier this year. "We seem to wait so long to get going on it," he stated. The board will study the recommendations at the next board meeting on November 25 and in the meantime consider possible persons to recommend as co,ordinator, The board will apply to the carrier of the board's group ins surance plan for $6(401)9 ad- ditional term insurance on the life of Mr. Vintar to replace the personal policy for the .same amount with another company, In the meantime the Board will renew the existing policy for $50,000 term insurance for the period October 17 to December 3.1, 1974 until the first request is approved. The board approved the working drawing and specification presented by ar- chitect Brian Garrett of Kyles, Kyles and Garrett, Stratford, for the 2,000 square foot ad- BY HELEN HOGGART Recreation News Boys volleyball registration was organized by Mr. Dick, Hugh Lobb, Art and Helen Hoggart with Steve Davey and John Hoggart acting as cap- tains, Game 1 was won by the Hoggart team; game 2 was won by the Hoggart team; game 3 was won by the Davey team and game 4 was won by the Hoggart team.. Rotating volleyball was en- joyed by Rick Blake, Lloyd Jantzi, Brad Duff, Larry Jantzi, Bryan Riddell, Ken Hoggart, Murray Hoggart and Mark Westbrook on the Davey team. David Bird, Mike Davie, Pete Davey, Brian Diehl, Larry Westbrook, Robbie Blake and Tim Bird were on the Hoggart team. Bill Rapson also registered. Thanks to Pat Harris, Sherri Duff and Cindy Rapson for keeping score. Physical Fitness is 1 /2 hour and volleyball or basketball is for one hour for adults on week nights. Comm. dition of a library resource cen- tre at St. Patrick!s School .,at Kinkora, which is estimated to cost $50,000, Mr, Shantz, chairman -of the by-law committee, presented the trustees with a number of changes in the by-laws covering board policy which included the rules covering the number of trustees to attend conferen- ces and the appointment of a hiring agent, but in both areas could only agree to disagree. The trustees are to study the recommendations, write in any changes they would like, and mail to Mr. Shantz who will re- introduce them at next meeting. In correction to last week's report, it is Lance Saddlor who is organizing the cross country skiing and possible outdoor sports. Personals Glad to hear that Bill Smith is able to be home from the hospital. Art and Helen Hoggart and family were to Exeter last Thursday and received three wristwatches for volume sales in Bestline in October. A happy face electric alarm clock was received for top distributor in the week Oct. 24-31 and a 32- cup percolator was received for top distributor in the London area for the month of October. The 4-H Girls Achievement Day is on Nov. 30 at 1:00 p.m. in Clinton High School. The leaders of the "Taylors Corners Tea Rings" are Martha de Boer and Margaret Hilder- brand. There was an excellent turnout of veterans and Legion members and Auxiliary members at the Remembrance Day parade and service held in Clinton on Monday.
