Employee Learning Program in the Clinton Public
Hospital - November 12, 1974 at 8 p.m.
This program is a multi-media instructional system
and although primarily produced for hospital staff, it is
a fascinating laming experience which can be enjoyed
by any member of the community whO is interested.

The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jan deWeerd of
R.R. I, Londesboro and the
groom is the son of Robert
MacDonald of Burlington and
Mrs. Donna Tolchard.
Rev. Alvin Beukema conduc-
ted the double ring ceremony
and Liz Soaman of Goderich
was at the organ.
Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride was dressed
in a white polyester satin gown
with lace sleeves and collar,
She wore a white hat and
carried a bouquet of yellow
daisies and roses.
The maid of honor was Judy
Haverkamp of Clinton, a friend

deWeerd, a sister of the bride,
She was dressed identically to
the maid of honor. ,
.The groomsman was John
Hoogedoorn, a friend of the
groom and the ushers were
Murray MacDonald of Wind-
sor, a brother of the groom and
Ken deWeerd of Londesboro, a
brother of the bride.
Following the wedding, a
reception was held in the
church hall where the mother
of the bride, to greet guests,
wore a powder blue polyester
crimp dress and a corsage of
pink roses. The groom's mother
assisted wearing .a peach and
grey polyester dress and a cor-
sage of yellow roses.
The couple are residing in
Belgrave.
Jim and Gary. Don, Reg and
Timmy went fishing at Port
Albert while they were visiting
here.

and William Alfred Martin on
Oct. 19th. The bride is the
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Ervin
Sillery, Brucefield and the
groom's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. William Martin, Wood-
stock.
The double-ring ceremony
was performed by the Rev. E.D.
Stuart, Centralia. Wedding
music was provided by Mrs.
Carol Le Beau, Brucefield on
the piano and Mrs. Doris
McKinley, Zi."lch on the organ.
Mr. Marlen Vincent, Seaforth
was soloist and sang "More"
and "For all we know."
The lovely bride given in
marriage by her parents chose a
formal A-line gown of white
Lagoda crepe featuring a nylon
scooped neck insert front and
back and Mandarin collar. The
slim waist flowed into a
cathedral train from the
hemline trimmed with
scalloped re-embroidered lace
matching the neckline and
long-pointed sleeves •with lace
Fier rt9jeadpiece of
rhinestones, peiirls and lace
held layers of heathercoats silk
illusion stemming into a
scalloped shoulder length veil
accented with seed pearls. She
carried a flowing cascade of red
roses and white baby's breath.
Maid of honour was Miss Beth
Howe, London, friend of the
bride. Miss Sandy Fishback,
Bright and Miss Jean Martin,
Woodstock, sister of the groom,
were bridesmaids. They were
gowned alike in royal blue
velvet enhanced with a crossed
bodice effect forming a tie in
the back. White eyelet lace
overcollars and caplet sleeves
accented their gowns, They
carried white maribou muffs
centred with a corsage of red
carnations and long velvet
streamers. Miss Darlene
Kramer, Woodstock was flower,
girl wearing a gown similar to
the other attendants with lace
trim and carried a maribou
muff also. All wore velvet bows
in their hair to match the
dresses.

SILLERY
Larry Sillery, Brucefield,
brother of the bride and Mr.
Ken Sackrider, Woodstock,
were ushers.
The groom and his atten-
dants wore blue tuxedos with
royal blue velvet collars, ruf-
fled shirts and red variegated
carnations on their lapel.
The wedding dinner was
served in the church hall. The
head table was centred with a
round three tiered wedding
cake topped with a beautiful
hand blown glass ornament,
and miniature bride and groom
with their attendants placed on
a velvet spiral aisle.
An evening reception
followed at the Pineridge
Chalet, Hensall. The bride's
mother received guests in a
fuschia knit gown with beaded
waist trim and black ac-
cessories. The groom's mother
assisted wearing a gown of blue
flowered nylon and black ac-
cessories. Both mothers wore
pink carnation corsages.
For a wedding trip to points
south the bride wore a formal
shirred gown of town blue with
white collar and cuffs and pink
rose corsage.
The young couple will reside
in Mississauga, Ont. The grown,
is employed with "OverliThd
Western" and the bride is on
the nursing staff of "The
Mississauga Hospital."
A community shower was
held in Brucefield United
Church on Sept. 27th. Mr. and
Mrs. Ervin Sillery held an
Open House on Oct. 16th and
both were attended by neigh-
bours, friends and relatives of
both the bride and groom.
Relatives and friends atten-
ded the wedding from Van-
couver, Regina, Nova Scotia,
Hamilton, Toronto, Sarnia,
Woodstock.

The Clinton Women's In-
stitute met in the Clinton Town
Hall on October 24th and had
as their guests members of Lon-
desboro W.I.
Following the opening exer-
cises, the roll call was
answered by "Why Conser-
vation has become so impor-
tant." Members were reminded
of the Area Convention to be
held in Central United Church,
Stratford on November 27 and
28, the theme to be "Nutrition
Health Convention."
A nutrition work shop will
take place at Auburn Hall for
Huron West Institutes on Wed-
nesday, November 6th begin-
ning at 10 a.m. and closing at 4
p.m. Ladies are to bring a box
lunch.
It was decided to send a let-
ter from Clinton Women's In-
stitute objecting to the closing
of.Huron, County Health Unit.
and to segments of the Mustard
report.
Mrs. C. Elliott reported on
the Huron County Rally held in
Brussels.
Mrs. E. Radford played two
piano selections, "Invercargill
March" and "Tiny Bubbles."
Mrs. Roy Connell, program
convener, gave a paper on
Hullett Wildlife Conser-
vation," Lois Elliott showed
pictures of birds and animals to
be found in conservation areas.
She also told two humorous
stories about deer hunting and
how to raise wildcats.
It was voted to bring
donations or articles for the
Children and Family Services
for Christmas to the next
meeting. This meeting will be
Nov, 21st, a week earlier
because of the Area Rally in
Stratford,
A pantry penny sale was con-
ducted by Mrs. F. Cumming
assisted by Mrs. W. Colciough.
Mrs. C. Elliott closed the
meeting with two poems
"Autumn" and "Grace".
Mrs. W. Coiclough and her
group served lunch and a social
half-hour followed.
Brownies
party
The Brownies had a
Hallowe'en party at the Clin-
ton Public school.
We played lots of games. And
we all bobbed for apples. We
all got an apple out of the
wa ter.
We danced , to show our
costumes. Brown Owl and
Tawny Owl picked all the
Brownies for the best costume.
We had a very good lunch, -by
