formed the meeting that

switchboard, a telephone jack

the Adult Health Clinic held in
September at the Public Health
centre. Mrs. Hanly and Mrs.

$th floor of the Middlesex Wing
in Vitoria Hospital, London.

surgery this past Monday.

Clinton II 4-H
The third meeting of the
Clinton II 4-H has been held at
Mrs. Howse's home on Septem-
ber 30th. Judy Tiesma, our
president, opened our meeting.
After we had said our pledge
we answered to roll call by
saying what type of reference
file we had chosen. After the
minutes of our previous
meeting was read our yellow
folders for our record books
were handed out. When the
business had been completed
the meeting was turned over to
the leaders. •
We discussed how to enter-
tain a guest and how to send an
invitation. We then discussed
how to be a good guest and how
she should answer the in-
vitation sent to her. We also
discussed how the guest should
pack her bags.
The leaders then showed us
how introductions should be
made, which we had to do
among one another.
Our next meeting will be
held at Mrs. Keith Tyndall's
home on October 7th at 7:30

Clinton JV 4-H
The fourth meeting of the
Clinton IV, 4-H. club was held
DO Monday, u September 30 at
Yield $t, Marie's,
We opened with the 4-H
pledge and Carolyn read the
minutes of the last meeting.
Mrs, Gibson and Mrs, Car-
nochan arranged fout plates of
sandwiches. We had to judge
them and give reasons.
We also discussed formal
end informal teas. Most of us
decided that we wouldn't want
to go to a formal tea, The next
meeting was held at Flynn's on
Oetober 7. by Rose Marie
Flynn,
"This year's penny sale was the
best ever!" said Mrs. Jo
Merriman, convener of this
event for the Clinton Hospital
Auxiliary,
During the regular meeting
on Monday morning Mrs.
Merriman paid tribute to area
business and professional
people and other groups who
contributed so generously. She
also thanked Mrs. Karen Lip-
pincott, her co-convener, and
Miss Freda Schoenhals,
treasurer, who gave the finan-
cial report.
Miss Schoenhals stated that
the net profit was over $1,100.
The president, Mrs. Kirsty
Barrett, outlined the recent
regional conference at Seaforth,
stressing Doctor Brady's
remarks on the implications for
small hospitals like Clinton of
the Mustard Report. A commit-
tee composed of Mrs. Harrett,
Mrs. M. Walden, and Mrs. L.
Cochrane was appointed to
study the report with a member
of the hospital board, and to
bring recommendations to the
November meeting.
The regional president, 'Mrs.
Meniies, and the secretary,
Mrs. - M. Porter, have, for the
past two years arranged Spring
and Fall conferences for
District 2 of the Hospital
Auxiliaries Assoc, District 2
stretches from Tillsonburg in
the south to Wingham in the
north, and from Mount Forest
in the east to Goderich in the
west. In addition they have
visited each hospital auxiliary
in the region. The president,
Mrs. Harrett, presented gifts to
both ladies to show the ap-
preciation of the auxiliary for
their hard and faithful work.
In her reply, Mrs. Menzies
complimented the auxiliary for
its unfailing support, and also
mentioned her gratitude to
Mrs. Helen Shearing who did
the considerable amount of
typing necessary for this work
over the past two years.
Mrs. Margaret Coventry, the
..-.:onvener for televisions, made
a lengthy report on procedure
to be followed by those volun-
teers looking after T.V. rentals
each day at the hospital.
She stressed the fact that the
auxiliary is providing a service
for patients.
The Auxiliary makes no
money unless the seven sets
available to patients are rented
every day of the month", she
stated.
"Thus far," she continued,
"we have , not reached „ this
goal."
She also suggested that
friends and relatives might con-
sider paying the T.V. rental for
patients as a gift. She went on
to say that clubs and
organizations might also con-
sider T V, rentals as a gift to
