'A,C,W, of St. James Anglican
Church, Middleton, held last
Thursday evening September
12:
Mrs. Edward Wise was the
leader in charge and opened
with a poem "Life's Demands".
A . hymn was sung, accom-
panied by a piano tape recor-
ding by Mrs. Wise. Mrs. Dutot
conducted the Litany.

giyen by Mrs. James Storey.
"'.Thank you's" were received

Alfred Hudie, also from the
Bayfield Fair Board.
':A donation of $35 was
acknowledged from Miss Agnes
Middleton of Goderich in
memory of the members of her
family, who have passed on.
The treasurer's report, given
by Mrs. Edward Wise, was
most gratifying, as the result of
a • very,. .busy' summer effort,
which included a rummage
sale, bake-sale, quilt to draw,
and catering to a Youth Con-
ference.
Mrs. John Smith gave the
card report and Mrs, Keith
Miller, the the Dorces, Those
present 15 in all, were asked in
turn to give a brief acolunt of
their summer's holidays, if any.
It was decided to purchase a
guest book for the church, a
long-felt need,
The highlight of the evening
was Mrs. Edward Deeves' ac-
count of the recent trip to
England enjoyed by her
husband and herself.
We felt we went right along
on the Jumbo Jet to Heathrow
airport and on to Banbury,
where the Deeves' headquar-
ters was with the lady's aunt
and uncle. We were surprised
to hear of refusals to accept
Canadian money in England in
the course of business,
Mrs. Deeves reported
highlights such as a delightful
tour of all of Shakespeare's
Stratford-on-Avon haunts,
Blenheim Palace, Sir Winston's
grave at Bladen 'Churchyard,
Dartmouth, the largest stock
market in Europe at Banbury
and finally their day in Lon-
don.
Mrs. Edward Wise thanked
Mrs. Deeves for a delightful
travelogue, enjoyed by all
present.
The Rector,, the Rev. George
Youmatoff closed the meeting
with prayer.

hand since catering to the
Youth Conference were auc-
tioned off, with the Rector ac-
ting as auctioneer,
