McBride of R.R. 1 Varna •and Janice L, Bailey of Hastings, Michigan. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs, William A. Bailey of Kalamazoo, Michigan and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley McBride of R.R. 1, Varna. Rev. James C. Grant of- ficiated at the double ring ceremony, and Charlene Austin played the organ. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose a Queen Ann styled white Jersey, with lace and pearl trim, and a train. She carried a mixed colonial bouquet. The first meeting of Zeta Omega chapter of Bet a Sigma' Phi was held at the home of Marion Purnia in Londesboro. The roll call was taken with 12 present followed by the minutes of the last regular meeting in June, The treasurer's report was given by JoAnn Bullen. The corresponding secretary, Linda Bell, had a picture and an information pamphlet con- cerning the club's foster child in Kenya; her name is Akiri Naker and her age is not exac- tly known just, estimated at 5 years. The couple honeymooned in the Maritime Provinces. The couple are residing in Guelph, Ontario, where the groom is teaching at the University of Guelph. He has completed his doctorate in soil sciences at Michigan State University. The bride has her master's degree from Michigan State. gave her report ,on the up- coming rushing party to be held at the Orange Hall the first Tuesday in October. The ways and means commit- tee reported that they have organiszed a car wash Sat. Sept 14 from 10 until 2 at Carter's garage for $1. The committee is also organizing a bike-a-thon to be held in October and a Halloween Dance to help raise money for the community projects and foster child. The program for the evening was on "Manners" given by Mary Ann Yates. The meeting ended with the closing Ritual, followed by a tasty lunch served hostess Marion Durnin. an appeal for money to help feed these children. She was thanked by Eileen Townsend and given some children's books for her school. The business part of the meeting followed. The president, Norma McGregor, thanked Barbara and Eileen for their worship. The secretary, treasurer, and cards and flowers reports were given. The Unit is going to cater to Sandra Graham's wedding,- Oc- tober 26. Group 2 is in charge. Group 3 will look after the reception lunch. It was moved by Vina Brodie and seconded by Jean Taylor that we charge $25 to make the lunch. The Regional meeting is to be held in Egmondville on October 8. The bazaar will be held on November 16 and they have been invited to Wesley-Willis Thankoffering on October 6. The beef barbecue will be held on October 23. The meeting was ' adjourned by Eileen Townsend, A delicious lunch was served by Doris Cantelon and her helpers. SUI4041 SEPT. 22 HICKSON Brucefield United Church was decorated with gladiola and candelabra for the August 10 wedding of Brenda Dianne Triebner to Robert Dwain Hickson. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Triebner, RR 3, Kippen and the groom is the son of'Mr. and Mrs. Wes Hickson, Lucan. Rev. Paul Packman, of- ficiated at the double ring ceremony and Mrs. Gerald Moffat was the organist. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a floor length gown of white lagoda crepe accented by a full skirt which swept into a train at the back. Her juliette cap held her cathedral length veil in place. The gown, veil and headpiece were highlighted with a delicate scalloped edged trim. The bride carried a white The weather was ideal on Saturday for the Blyth Threshers reunion. Twenty residents attended the reunion and all report a good display of engines and equipment. Mr. Miller of Exeter was welcomed to the Home during the afternoon and the Christian Reform volun- teers assisted with the ac- tivities. The program for "family night" consisted of a visit from the Clinton Horticulture Society and entertainers from Brucefield, Kippen and Bayfield areas. The matron of honour was Mrs. Howard Bernard, sister of the bride. Briclemaids were Mrs. Carl Rummel, sister of the groom and Doreen Grey, Lucan, friend of the bride, Cindy Lou Bernard, the bride's niece was the flowergirl. The attendants wore matching gowns of white Georgette bodice wich floral skirts and sleeves. They carried bouquets of roses. Gary Hayter, Lucan was the best marl and Ralph Triebner and Terry Hickson ushered the guests. A receptipn was held in the Church Hall at Brucefield. For a wedding trip to Niagara Falls the bride wore a white linen suit with an orchid corsage. The couple will reside at RR 2, Lucan. ' Ontario Street United Church in Clinton was decorated with candelabra, pink gladiolas, white daisies and myrtle for the afternoon wedding of Donald Samuel Castanza of Sudbury, Ontario, and Joyce Lillian Falconer of London, Ontario. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Castanza of Sudbury, and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Falconer of RR 5, Clin- ton. Rev. L.S. Lewis officiated at the double-ring ceremony, and Mrs. Doris McKinley was the organist. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose a beautiful, tailored-made, floor- 'length A-line dress, with pale pink polyester satin undergown with an overlay of white gorgette, The gown featured three capettes trimmed with lace, a V neckline and a full skirt with ruffles trimmed with lace, She wore a Gatsby style white hat trimmed with a pink rose, and she carried a bouquet " r.nffl,e2.:.on the brit- bouquet of white daisies, pink baby's breath and garlands of trailing myrtle and daisies. The attendants were Mrs. Joan' Martin of Grimsby, On- tario, a friend of the bride, and. Mrs. June Corriveau of Goderich, and Miss Jean Falconer of Clinton, both sisters of the bride. They were dressed similarly to the matron of honor. Robert Micheleete of East Lansing, a friend of the groom, was the groomsman, and the ushers were Sandy MacDonald, John Mancini, and Doug Wieksinic, all of Sudbury, and all friends of the groom. Following the wedding, a reception was held in the Clin- ton Community Centre, which was decorated with pink and white streamers. The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a floor-length gown of pale yellow crimpelene knit topped with a jacket and featuring a round neckline trimmed with pearls. Her cor- sage was made of white roses trimmed with pale green. The groom's mother assisted wearing a floor-length sleeveless gown of pale green sheer topped with a cape collar. Her corsage was made of yellow, sweetheart roses.
