Natural history series
returns for another season
Mutual of Omaha's WILD KINGDOM, the
award-winning natural history television series,
premieres its thirteenth season this fall on WNEM-
TV, Sunday, Septrrer 8 at 7:00 P.M.
The show joi ed the ranks of syndicated
programs during the 1971-72 season. Over the past
three years, it has consistently been rated number
one in terms of viewing audience among all syn-
dicated programs.
World-famed zoologist Marlin Perkins has hosted
the program since its inception in 1963 and will con-
tinue in this role. Perkins has journeyed to both
poles and every continent and major ocean in the
world in search of adventure to be filmed for the
show. Forthcoming programs include a trip to the
Natal National Parks in South Africa in an effort to
restock and relocate large, endangered animals; a
two-part presentation studying. the life and habits of
the humpback whale in the Caribbean Sea; and a
look at the unusual animals — from wombats to
platypuses — found on the Furneauz Islands south
of Australia.
