Early last Sunday, Clinton charged two Goderich youths .after a high speed chase that started out in Clinton, proceeded to Seaforth where the culprits ran a roadblock and finally ended up 1 112 miles east of Seaforth when the car was forced to stop by the Seaforth Police. Barry Gerald Begeman of Goderich is charged with dangerous driving and• having no driving licence, and Gregory Paul Little is charged with ob- structing police and. assaulting a police officer. Later in the morning at Seaforth, a Seaforth youth was charged after he tried to free the two other yOuths from the police car. Charged with obstructing a police officer is John Alexander Miller of RR 4, Seaforth. In Goderich Court on Mon- day, Ronald Lloyd Rueger of Clinton was sentenced to 10 months in jail for possession of stolen property. The youth also faces several other charges at a future date. The Huronview Ladies' Auxiliary held their regular monthly meeting in the Craft Room at Huronview on Mon- day August 19th. Mrs. Webster, the president, opened the meeting with The Lord's Prayer, followed by the reading of' the minutes of the previous meeting which were Approved as read. Mrs. Scratch, the editor of the Huronview News, distributed copies of the sum- mer edition to each member present and copies will be sent to each Women's Institute. There is a certain amount of expense involved in producing the magazine and no allocation is included in the Huronview budget, as the magazine was not being 'published at the time the budget was .prepared. After some discussion it was agreed to apply for a "New Horizons" grant from the Government to cover the costs of publication until a new budget is prepared. Roll call was answered by members from Blyth, Clinton, Hensall, Kippen East and Lon- desboro. The members decided to become "Sunshine Sisters" to residents who 'have no family or friends to visit them, names were chosen from a list prepared by the office. Miss Petts of Blyth gave 'a reading "Does anyone ever laugh in this house.". Mrs. McGregor reported for the Craft Room and the treasurer gave her report. The Fall Bazaar will be held on Wednesday November 6th. The Auxiliary decided to have an Apron Table at the Bazaar. Members will contribute aprons for this and the Women's Institutes will also be asked to contribute one or more aprons for this table. Further plans for the Bazaar will be made at the September and Oc- tober meetings. Mrs. Webster closed the meeting with a poem. The next meeting of the Auxiliary will be held on September 16th at 2:30 p.m. The President said she hoped that now that the summer is, over, more members would be' in attendance at the meetings. Also new members will be very welcome, any lady in Huron County is eligible to join the Auxiliary and you don't have to be an Institute member.
