From the horses mouth A large crowd attended the Clinton Lawn cowling Club's third annual Bankeri Tournament held last Saturday in town. Fair weather and stiff competition made for an excellent day. (News-Record photo) Clinton Raceway entries The largest turnout of spec- tators this season was treated to an excellent show of soccer at the Arena on Sunday when Clinton and Goderich met in a key Third Division League game and played to a 1,1 tie. A beautiful goal by Brian Jewitt 1$ minutes from ,full time (Brian's 20th of the season) kept Clinton's un- beaten record intact after Goderich had gone ahead on a fine header by centre Rick Fisher and thought they had the game wrapped up. Clinton, playing with tenacity and determination, gave Goderich goalie Alex Varga a lot more trouble than Doug Rielly, in net for Clinton, had to handle from the Goderich team, Both 'keepers played well and a tie was the fairest out- come in a hard fought match. The referee maintained firm control of the game and handed out several warnings for rough play.
