Aftet winning 20 gariaes
straight, including the first six
games of the round-rebin• play-
off series, the Clinton Colts
dropped two games straight to
Arva in the final round of the
Huron-Perth play-offs series,
and were eliminated from far-
ther play.
The Arva Athletics took the
series two games straight, on
virtue of a 9-7 decision in Clin-
ton last Tuesday night, (Aeguit
20y and then last Wednesday
night in Arva, `the Athletics
sidelined the Colts with a 6-3
win.
The Colts had never been ,
defeated all season by any of
the clubs, including Arva, and
had won 14 regular season
games and six play-off
In fact, the Colts had .over-
whelmed their opposition in
many of the games.
Stewart Mustard pitched an
excellent game against the
Athletics in the final 6.3 loss,
but the Clinton bats were silent
for the most part and he got lit-
tle backing, as he struck out 10
Arva batters.
Arva now advances to the
Ontario Baseball Association's
championships and meet
Hanover in the first round.

Clinton Raceway entries
The largest turnout of spec-
tators this season was treated
to an excellent show of soccer
at the Arena on Sunday when
Clinton and Goderich met in a
key Third Division League
game and played to a 1,1 tie.
A beautiful goal by Brian
Jewitt 1$ minutes from ,full
time (Brian's 20th of the
season) kept Clinton's un-
beaten record intact after
Goderich had gone ahead on a
fine header by centre Rick
Fisher and thought they had
the game wrapped up.
Clinton, playing with
tenacity and determination,
gave Goderich goalie Alex
Varga a lot more trouble than
Doug Rielly, in net for Clinton,
had to handle from the
Goderich team,
Both 'keepers played well
and a tie was the fairest out-
come in a hard fought match.
The referee maintained firm
control of the game and handed
out several warnings for rough
play.
Wedlock of Goderich and
Clinton's Don McDaid were
ejected from the fame for
fighting and a few minutes
before full time, Tony Van.

series will be played in Hager-
sville on Sunday at 2 p.m. and
no decision has yet been
