Darren returned home having
spent past meek with his grand-
parents. They attended a ball
tournament that David 'played

couple of days last week with

MacHodgert, Kirkton, who had
just returned from • a trip to
Alaska.

visited with the latter's sister,

Vahastra' • Gun Club
Harold Smith of Seaforth
and Manfred Dierof of
Goderich shared first place in
the trap shoot at the Vanastra
Gun club. on July 17, with 21
out of a possible 25 hits. They
were followed by Bob Orr of
Bayfield and Jiin Hogg of
Seaforth with 20 each. •
Next came Mery Batkin and
Charlie Brandon of Clinton
with 19 each. Ervin Marshall .
of Goderich with 18, "and
Ashley Gilbert 'of Goderich
with 15.
At the skeet shoot last Satur-
day, Allen Turner of St. Marys
was the top gunner with 23
strikes out of 25 targets, and he
was followed by Mery Batkin
of Clinton with 21 hits.
There was a three way tie for
third spot with Dave Schlemer
of Stratford, Torn Allin of Lon-
desboro and Mansfred Deirof
of Goderich each' hitting 20
targets. Next came Harrison
Schock of Zurich and Don
McDougall of Goderich with 19
hits, and Ashley Gilbert of
Goderich with 17.

United Church notes
A large congregation atten-
ded the United Church open air
service held on Sunday mor-
ning at Seaforth Lions Park.
Ushers were Wayne Hulley and
Bobbie Hunking.
The service began with a
singtime led by Elaine, Nixon
on the accordian and Ken Scott
on the guitar with soloist
Danny Lear singing "Try a lit-
tle kindness" and the "Lords
Prayer". Rev. McDonald in-
troduced Miss Clara McGowan
who read the scripture. ReV.

Newton.
The message was given by
. Miss McGoWan, who told of
her trip to the Holy Land seven
Years ago.-She showed articles
she had brought home and ex-
plained them.

After the. service; all enjoyed
a picnic dinner convened by
Gladys Gomley and Margaret
Whyte. The table centre was a.
lovely bouquet of sweet peas
placed by Mr. and Mrs. Boyd
Taylor after dinner sports were
conducted .by Cathy Penfound,
'Cathy Lyon •and Golda Sewers
for pre-schoolers.. Gordon and
Darlene Shobbrook and Joanne
Lyon for 6-9 years.
Results were: girls, Charlene
Knox; boys, Wayne Hully; kick
the slipper, girls Nancy Pen-
found, Boys Bradley Lyon; sack
race, boys, Wayne Hulley, girls
