Colts ftample. Tigers,
still unbeaten at home
The Clinton Colts show no -
suns of giving up .a regular
fleeson win as they beat the
Exeter Expos 04 last Wed,
nesday night (June 26) in Clint
tan. end then trampled the
Dashwood 15-0 in their own
liar); last Stinday,
Stew Mustard pasted his
third will of the season last
Wednesday when he .gave up
only two hits to the Expos in
going the distance.
Last Sunday, led by Ed Daer,
who was playing his first
regular season game, the Colts
had no trouble with the Tigers
zut, they led 9,0 after the first in-
ning and never looked back,
Daer only gave up one hit
during the first seven innings,
and reliever Brad Dutot only
gave up one to preserve the
Clinton win. Daer also -struck
out nine batters.
The Colts blasted the Tigers
with 18 hits, including four
homeruns, two of which were
hit by Hans Leppington, Other
homers, were picked up by
Larry Piekett and Daer, who
lead the hitting- parade with
four hits, including the homer,
two singles and a double..
Pickett had three hits, in-
eluding the homer and, three
singles. Leppington had the two
homers, a‘nd singles, were
picked up by "Doc" Miller

Joe
Livermore, Don Bertha, Fete
Black, Brad Dutot and Dan
Colquhoun. Paul Bartliff
*led up a double and Steve
Switzer hit a double and a
single,
Last night, July 3, the Coils
hosted the Exeter • Expos again
and Friday night they host the
Thordale Angles 'at 8 p.m.
Even though they have
strong pitching, the Colts seem
to lack the strength at the box
office and have expressed the
wish for bigger crowds at their
home games.

The number of students who
have found work this year
through the Student Manpower
Centre in Goderich and Huron
Park has increased by 60 per
cent over 1973. Much of this in-
crease can be attributed direc-
tly to the Hire a Student Week,
conducted for the first time this
year by the student office. The
response from the employers in
the 'area was very good. As a
result, there were as many
student placed in June as there
had been up to the end of May.
So far, around 800 students
have registered for work, with
nearly 70 per cent having found
a job for the summer. Of those
still seeking employment, 80
per cent are 15 to 17 years old.
Mr. Walden is asking that
anyone who wants someone to
babysit, cut grass, paint, or do
odd jobs, please contact him.
Any older students who are
still looking for work should
notify their local student
placement office in Goderich or
Huron Park. •
