Buyers, eollectors and
curiosity . seekers came from
many parts of United States
and Canada to bid on
heirlooms, antiques, books. and
furnishings, some of which had
been in the Gairdner home
since it was built in the early
19th century,
In 1853 the gracious. Georgian
Style ,House was built by -the
Gairdner's who cams from
Scotland and settled in
Bayfield. From the' time of its
construction, a part . of, the
home was a store, a ,post;offiee
and the office of the Great
North-West Telephone Co, A
fourth generation of the Gaird-
ner family, .Mrs.
Gaylord Gairdner passed 'awaY.
in April and on Saturday, the
home was purchased by Mrs. R.
O. Hunter for .her • .nephew,
Charles Rogers who is acting.

original condition and when he
retires, he and his family plan

ft, 1, St. Marys have three
children, Francis Jr., Paul and
Barbara and one grandaughter

They were the recipients of
many lovely gifts and among
them a dozen dark red ,roses

Belgium. Congratulations are
extended to Jeanne and Frank
for continued happiness
together.
