The funeral service was held from the Ball Funeral Home in Clinton on June 17 with Rev. John Oestreicher officiating. Interment was in Clinton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Raymond Cook, Jim Cole, Frank Thomp- son, Charlie Durst, Elmer Pot- ter, and Rick Henry. Flowerbearers were Janey, Beck, Linda Cole, Shirley Henry and Peggy Cook. The sixth annual reunion was held at the Community Centre in Dashwood on Sun- day, June 16. Mrs. Alda Hep- pler of Waterloo was hostess and provided the setting. Thirty children and 34 adultp were present. There were three Unavoidable absentees. The first part of the after- noon was given to greetings and visitation. Doris Clemas, Carolyn Fedy and Sharon Soldan supervised the sports, assisted by Jack Munn, James Hoffman and Patrick Soldan, who acted as linesmen and spotters. (News-Record photo) Bolton-Ford reunion at Dashwood CIANTON NEWS-RECORD, TIEJURSPAY JUNE 27, .1974,11 Magic Circle UCW' hears of children's aid Mrs. Lloyd Bond was hostess for the June meeting of the Magic Circle Unit of Wesley- Willis UCW Mrs. .Oliver presided' and opened the meeting with a poem "A Recipe for a. Home" and a prayer. Mary Jamieson was in charge of devotions. A hymn was sung and a hymn read, as prayer, in unison, Marjorie Porter gave a reading "One Day at a Time" and Hazel Brown also gave a reading, "I am a Foot" - a nominating committee's story. Roll call was answered by a "Favourite Quotation" The president presided for the business part of the meeting. The secretary's and treasurer's reports were read. Bessie Stoop reported 16 hospital and 19 home calls. The unit is in charge of the Hospital cart for July, work of Bon d the gacvehieidtreeln,k:n Aide Society. Changes in the o ad- ministration are being proposed. Ontario municipalities told community and social services minister Rene Brunelle, at .a June meeting that Children's Aid Societies should be abolished. Responsibility for wardship and adoption should be tran- sferred to the. province and all other functions carried out by the societies should be merged with municipal social services. Supper was served in the hall where all sat down to a scrum- ptous meal provided by the hostess. The children were later called to the platform where ribbons were given out to all winners. Mr. James Ross, Kingston, addressed the group expressing his appreciation at being in a family where fellowhsip and good will is so abundantly evident and whose motto surely must be "Togetherness". He thanked the hostess for the good day she had given to all. He then asked each person to rejoice in the birth of Timothy Carlton Hoff- man, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoffman and to cherish the memories of Gordon Clemas and Carl Heppler. A lively mixed baseball game ensued, captained by Robert Hoffman and Michael Soldan. Robbie Hoffman, 5 years of age, was the star player on his fathers team.
