David Anstett, son of Mr.
and Mrs. John Anstett, Mill
Street, has returned home after
a stay of eight weeks in Los
Angeles, Calif. While there, he
attended the Gemological in-
stitute of America to complete
the course he has been taking
by correspondence for the past
year. There were students from
all over the world - David was
the only Canadian. The course
has covered the intensive study
of all' gem minerals for iden-
tification, grading and ap-
praisals, also the theory and
practice of cutting and
polishing. While the pressure of
.studying precluded much sight-
seeing, David did manage one
weekend in San Francisco,
which he thought was a
beautiful city.
